Oct. 23, 2001 – Disney Online launched Main Street Merchants, a virtual shopping center. (www.disney.com/mainstreet)
Oct. 23, 2001 – Disney’s “Monsters, Inc.” soundtrack, featuring the music of Randy Newman, was released.
Oct. 23, 2003 – The 1st ever ESPN Zone Limited Edition Santa Claus Pin was released.
Oct. 23, 2003 – The Walt Disney Concert Hall, in Los Angeles, Ca., and the new home of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, and designed by architect Frank Gehry, opened.
Oct. 23, 2003 – The top golfers teed up for the “Funai Classic” at WDW.
Oct. 23, 2003 – A sneak preview of a new Disney animated feature titled “Home on the Range” took place at Pleasure Island AMC. The film, which features music by Alan Menken, is scheduled for an April 2004 release.
Oct. 23, 2003 – The “Disney Gallery” reopened at Disneyland with a display from the Haunted Mansion and “The Haunted Mansion” movie.
Oct. 23, 2005 – WDW announced that all theme parks and water parks would be closed tomorrow due to the effects of weather related Hurricane Wilma.
Oct. 23, 2007 – Disney’s “Meet the Robinsons” was released on DVD and Blu-ray.
Oct. 23, 2007 – The Best of Both Worlds Tour, starring Miley Cyrus (as herself and in character as Disney Channel’s Hannah Montana) and featuring The Jonas Brothers, played at the Qwest Center in Omaha, Ne.
