Oct. 20, 2000 – The Disney Animation Studio in Florida released the short cartoon “John Henry.”
Oct. 20, 2001 – Epcot’s 6th Annual “International Food & Wine Festival” began at WDW. (Ran through Nov. 18th).
Oct. 20, 2003 – Phil Collins and Tina Turner performed at the world premiere of Disney’s “Brother Bear” at the New Amsterdam Theatre in N.Y.C.
Oct. 20, 2003 – Disney’s “Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl” was chosen as the movie of the year at the closing night of the 7th annual Hollywood International Film Festival in Beverly Hills, Ca.
Oct. 20, 2003 – One hundred forty-four PGA Tour professionals and 144 amateurs took to the fairways at Disney’s Palm and Magnolia golf courses for the 7-day Funai Classic at WDW.
Oct. 20, 2005 – The PGA Tour’s FUNAI Classic observed its 35th anniversary at WDW.
Oct. 20, 2006 – The Disney Channel Original Movie “Return to Halloweentown” aired for the first time.
Oct. 20, 2006 – The Perry Meridian High School Marching Falcons band from Indiana performed on WDW’s Main Street as part of Disney’s Magic Music Day.
Oct. 20, 2006 – “The Nightmare Before Christmas” was generally re-released in Disney Digital 3D. (the first time an analog 2D film has been totally turned into a digital 3D film).
Oct. 20, 2007 – The Best of Both Worlds Tour, starring Miley Cyrus (as both herself and in character as Disney Channel’s Hannah Montana) and featuring The Jonas Brothers, pulled into the I wirless Center arena in Moline, Il.
