Oct. 18, 2000 – Disney’s one-hour TV drama “Gideon’s Crossing” began airing on ABC-TV. (Ended Apr. 9, 2001)
Oct. 18, 2001 – The “Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party” began in the Magic Kingdom in WDW.
Oct. 18, 2002 – The Disneyland Resort had a pep rally for the American League pennant-winning Anaheim Angels in Downtown Disney.
Oct. 18, 2002 - The facade work was completed on Maelstrom in Norway.
Oct. 18, 2003 – Golf great Tiger Woods visited WDW and took his turn on Epcot’s “Mission Space.”
Oct. 18, 2003 – The 8th Annual “Epcot International Food & Wine Festival” began at WDW.
Oct. 18, 2005 – Disney’s “Chicken Little the video game” was released.
Oct. 18, 2006 – The upcoming WDW musical version of “Finding Nemo,” received a short preview presentation on the stage of Broadway’s Palace Theatre in N.Y.C. “Finding Nemo – The Musical” was the first major musical produced for the WDW Resort by Disney Creative Entertainment.
Oct. 18, 2007 – An annual holiday tradition kicked off at the El Capitan Theatre with the re-release of Tim Burton’s “The Nightmare Before Christmas.” The El Capitan offered a special opening-night filmmakers’ panel with guests producer Don Hahn, feature producer Denise Di Novi, director Henry Selick and supervising animator Mike Belzer. Nightmare would open to theaters in Disney Digital 3D the following day. (Ran through Nov. 18, 2007).
Oct. 18, 2007 – The Best of Both Worlds Tour, a 54-date North American run began starring Miley Cyrus as both herself and in character as Hannah Montana, kicked off in St. Louis, Missouri. Hollywood Records recording artists The Jonas Brothers also appeared.
