Oct. 11, 1991 – The Disney/Touchstone film “Ernest Scared Stupid” was released.
Oct. 11, 1995 – Delos Records released the theme park album “Beauty and the Beat!!”- featuring Disney tunes in steelband style.
Oct. 11, 1998 – A benefit performance of the Disney musical “Elaborate Lives: The Legend of Aida” (for the Elton John Aids Foundation) took place at the Alliance Theatre in Atlanta, Ga. Elton John was on hand for a greet and meet at a pre-show VIP cocktail/buffet at $1,000 per ticket, at the Woodruff Arts Center.
Oct. 11, 1998 – The Wonderful World of Disney TV series aired the 2-hour TV movie “Noah.”
Oct. 11, 2002 – The “Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party” began in the Magic Kingdom at WDW. (Dates: 11,17,20,25,27,31, and Nov. 1)
Oct. 11, 2002 – The Disney movie, “Tuck Everlasting” based on Natalie Babbitt’s classic children’s book starring Sissy Spacek, Ben Kingsley, and William Hurt was released on the big screen.
Oct. 11, 2003 – A preview of the new Disney/Pixar feature “The Incredibles” aired during “The Wonderful World of Disney” on ABC.
Oct. 11, 2003 – “The ExtraTERRORestrial Alien Encounter” attraction closed in Tomorrowland at WDW, and would be replaced with “Stitch’s Great Escape.”
Oct. 11, 2005 – Walt Disney Records released “Cheetah-Licious Christmas,” a holiday album by “The Cheetah Girls.”
Oct. 11, 2006 – The Disney Vacation Club announced that the Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge would be home to the next Disney Vacation Club Resort.
