Oct. 6, 1989 – The Disney/Touchstone film “An Innocent Man” was released.
Oct. 6, 1992 – WDW announced plans to build three resorts, with sports, music, and wilderness themes, that will offer over 4,500 rooms. The Florida resort also planned to build a new water theme park.
Oct. 6, 1995 – The Disney film “Dead Presidents” had its general release.
Oct. 6, 1998 – Disney’s “101 Dalmatians Christmas,” was released directly to video.
Oct. 6, 2000 – The Disney half-hour TV series “Madigan Men,” began airing on ABC. (Ended Dec. 12, 2000)
Oct. 6, 2001- Disney’s House of Mouse debuted the episode “Clarabelle’s Big Secret.”
Oct. 6, 2003 – The RIAAC Recording Industry Association of America, awarded Hilary Duff with her first platinum certification for album shipments of 1 million units. (Her debut album “Metamorphosis” was released in August 2003 on Buena Vista Records/Hollywood Records.
Oct. 6, 2003 – “The Wayne Brady Show” was filmed in Epcot at WDW.
Oct. 6, 2003 – The new opening show at Disney’s Animal Kingdom called “Let the Adventure Begin,” which allowed Guests into the peak 20 minutes early to explore the Oasis area up to the Tree of Life.
Oct. 6, 2004 – Studio executive Richard Berger, who is credited with starting Disney’s Touchstone Films subsidiary, passed away at age 64.
