DAY 5 Monday 9/28
Magic Kingdom/EPCOT
Today is our last day with AS. . After AS got her bags off to baggage check at the POP… it was off and back to Magic Kingdom. It was SO CROWDED. CRAZY Crowded, HOLIDAY crowded. Annoyingly crowded. Oh let me go back… Earlier that morning, Shaun had wanted to charge my camera. However he put in the wrong charger… He put in the DVD player charger instead of the camera charger, and there was a spark… and then my camera was FRIED. We took out the memory stick and are hoping the pics are still on it! But the camera has no life to it… So he felt bad, I felt mad that he didn’t ask which charger was the right one, then I felt bad that he felt so bad. We both decided that we would just buy a few overpriced disposable cameras for the rest of the vacation and move on. There were a few moments of silence this morning. I did use this to my advantage and told Shaun he is not allowed to complain when I make the reservations for next year! So onto Magic Kingdom… Which was A SEA of people.. We did most of Fantasy Land again. Shaun and AS took Sammy on Haunted Mansion while I took Alex on It’s a Small World. (Alex REALLY got to love this ride, and actually I have a new found respect for it. My favorite room is the Hawaii/Australia room. My favorite doll is the American Indian doll that is up high right before you leave the White room. He is right above the cowboy doll. Alex liked to find and point out the suns that are in each room. We went to Toon Town, and AS, Shaun and Sammy got in line for Goofy’s Barnstormer Roller Coaster while Alex and I found a corner in the cooler Judges tent and had a lollipop and some silly down time. We wanted to try lunch at Pecos Bills, which did not have an empty seat. Generally Shaun takes the girls to get a table, AS and I get lunch and find their table. It was so crowded, and the tray was SOOO Heavy… we went into 3 different rooms there and could not find him. Finally we found him outside. We had a hurried lunch. After this we said goodbye to Auntie Susie as she had to head back to POP to catch the Magic Express bus. It was sad to see her go, she and Sammy had become very close doing a lot together. We headed over to EPCOT via the monorail. We rode the big ball again.. not sure what else. We had reservations that night for Garden Grille. They said they had just filled up the restaurant and gave us Fast Passes for Soarin, so I went this time. Shaun stayed with the girls. Then we went back and our table was about ready. We got to the table and realized the the autograph book was way out at the stroller. Given the girls were NOT that into the characters this year, we didn’t bother going back to get it. The rolls were delish and so was the salad. The meat and fish that was brought to the table was all a little overdone, but the stuffing and cranberries were YUMMY. The girls enjoyed mac and cheese again… We had to wait extra time for the girls to meet Dale and Pluto… Shaun used this time and went on his Fast Pass for Soarin. Once we were done, the girls and I went back to visit Figment at Journey Into Imagination. We then all caught up again. Shaun was starting to cough and get a sore throat. We went back to the POP and did a little swimming… a little sadder without our resident tickle monster AS there. Then it was time for a bath and bed.
