The last day of our upcoming trip is the last day of the scheduled refurb (Nov 21). What are the chances of us being able to ride this the week we're there? Do they sometimes have soft openings for refubs like this?

I am very curious about this as well. Our last day is 11/22 so we might make it to the opening but a soft opening would be better.

I was planning to but annual passes while we were there so maybe there will be an opening for the annual passholders as well.

It's possible, we rode Stitch's Great Escape before it was officially opened. They were doing a form of soft opening on our last visit (late 2004) on our last day, mostly for cast members though. A cast member heard that we had to go shortly for the airport and said we could go in.

Don't get your heart set on it happening as it may not be possible this time. I wouldn't rule it out completely though, it could be possible. Just think of it as an added bonus if you do get to! :mickey:

We were at MK last week on the TTA. As we were riding through I heard them making announcements to clear the track (of people) as they were getting ready to make a test run. It sounds like they're getting close. :mickey:

i would love to be able to ride SM on the day it opens - we were in the park on the last day before it closed and rode it.

I rode EE about a week before the official opening, so yes they do happpen, just keep those fingers crossed!

We will be arriving the weekend before SM re-opens. I'm a DVC member and a Annual Pass Holder. while I'm there do I just ask someone at Guest Relations or Town Hall?

I rode TTA last Friday night and they were running empty trains on Space Mountain. Granted that doesn't mean much but it's a step in the right direction.
