Sept. 28, 2003 – The Disney one-hour drama series “10-8” began airing on ABC-TV. (Ended Jan. 25, 2004)
Sept. 28, 2004 – Disney’s Aladdin Special Edition soundtrack was released.
Sept. 28, 2004 – AOL Music First View debuts Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey’s “A Whole New World” music video. The new version is from Disney’s 2-disc special edition DVD of Aladdin (to be released Oct. 5, 2004).
Sept. 28, 2004 – Hollywood Records (owned by Disney) released Hilary Duff’s 2nd album, the self-titled “Hilary Duff,” on her 17th birthday.
Sept. 28, 2004 – The stage musical “Mary Poppins” began regular performances at the Bristol Hippodrome in England. The show (produced by Disney and Cameron Macintosh) would later move to the Prince Edward Theatre in London.
Sep. 28, 2005 – In honor of Kermit the Frog’s 50th anniversary, the U.S. Postal Service issued a set of stamps including Animal, Fozzie Bear, the Great Gonzo, and Miss Piggy.
Sept. 28, 2007 – The 12th Annual EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival kicked off at WDW. The American pavilion debuted “National Treasures,” an exhibit of significant artifacts from U.S. history.
Sept. 28, 2007 – Disney’s live-action comedy “The Game Plan,” starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, was released in theaters.
Sept. 28, 2007 – A second sneak preview of “Phineas and Ferb” aired on the Disney Channel with the episode “Lawn Gnome Beach Party of Terror!” following the network debut of Disney’s 2005 feature “Sky High.”
Sept. 28, 2008 – The 6-foot tall, 155 pound giraffe “Bonsu” was born at Disney’s Animal Kingdom at WDW. “Bonsu” is the 11th giraffe born at the WDW theme park.
