I just found out about the Gardens of the World tour that is part of Epcot's Flower and Garden Festival. Since we will be at Disneyworld celebrating our 30th anniversary during next years Flower and Garden Festival I am thinking of getting my husband and I tickets to the Gardens of the World tour. I have a few questions and hope someone can answer them for me.

1) If you have done the tour what is your opinion of it?

2) How much in advance can we purchase tickets?

3) Do the tours fill up quickly?

4) How much do the tours cost?

Thanks for any help you all can give me.

We did the Gardens of the World tour in 2002, so it's obviously been awhile.

We had a fantastic time. Our tour guide was great - he was actually one of the pest control specialists so in addition to the horticultural information, we learned a ton about how Disney deals with pests (which, we learned, included alligators as well as insects). Lots of insight about how Disney uses landscaping to enhance the themeing and how they deal with things like trying to create a scene that looks like it's straight out of Norway, but with plants that have to survive in the Florida heat.

We were on this trip with some first timers, one of whom is an incredible gardener and landscape artist. He absolutely loved the tour. He still talks about it 7 years later. He considers it one of the highlights of the trip.

I'm not completely sure, but I believe this tour is now "seasonal" meaning it isn't available at all times. I do recall that it was on the list as one of the events of the 2009 Flower and Garden Festival (makes sense). I'm pretty sure that it was only available 2 or 3 days during the week, so the capacity is limited.

In 2002, I'm pretty sure we could book the tour 180 days out. We didn't, though, it was more like 90 days out. With it being limited, I'd call the tour desk and verify when you can sign up for it, and then do it as quickly as possible. According to the info I have, in 2009 the tour cost $59 per person. Discounts are available for Annual Passholders.

I hope this helps.
