Space Mtn re-opening?

I think I read somewhere that Space Mountain is currently closed for refurbishing...we're going down 28 Oct ... is there a chance it will be open again? I'd hate to miss it.

Not much chance of this reopening early. Refurbs are usually on time or longer than planned, almost never, if ever, ready ahead of schedule. We missed it on our last trip, too (but we still had a great time with everything else).

Just FYI, when I was just there, there is a sign in Tomorrowland that says "Space Mountain, Flights Resume Winter 2009"

Walt Disney World attractions under renovations RARELY open early. But don't let this get you down, there are so many other amazing rides and attractions... If you were a big fan of the classic space mountain consider trying Expedition Everest if you haven't already. It's dark like space mountain, but even more thrilling :thumbsup: Enjoy your time at the World!!

We'll be there November 4-8, so looks like I'll just miss it. Ah well. We'll catch it next time!

Its down until Nov 21, so we will be missing it this year too. Its one of my favorite rides, but they are enhancing it, so I look forward to riding next year! Just a bummer that it is set to re-open the day we leave to go home!

As of this past Sunday, the signs that were up say that it will be re-opening in "Winter 2009" - so I don't think they will be done that early.
