I had to change doctors because of a change of insurance. My new doctor is insisting doing Thyrogen stimulated tg testing done yearly. My old doctor did not do this and I have seen her for 8 years, ever since she diagnosed my cancer. This medication is very costly (around $800 for 2 shots) and I can't find anywhere online where this type of yearly test is recommended. Please help me.

Is this tg testing the new protocol? Please let me know what you are having done for follow up. I am just a bit concerned.

what is it for?

it has been 9 years for me and nothing more than taking synthroid after the surgery and radiation.

Also, found out that if you google "thyrogen protocol" you can find lots of info, such as the what's and why's. You might be able to determine if this is something you want to do, or not.

Again, good luck!
