Sept. 6, 2003 – Jules Engel, animator who worked on Disney classic films such as, “Fantasia,” and “Bambi,” died at the age of 94.
Sept. 6, 2004 – WDW re-opened after being slammed by Hurricane Frances on a limited schedule. Only the Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Typhoon Lagoon, Downtown Disney and the Wide World of Sports Complex were opened.
Sept. 6, 2004 – Construction began on the new theme pool at Disney’s Old Key West Resort in WDW.
Sept. 6, 2004 – “Disney Villains: The Essential Guide,” published by DK, hit store shelves.
Sept. 6, 2005 – Disney’s Volume #3 of “Princess Stories: Beauty Stones from Within” was released on DVD.
Sept. 6, 2005 – Disney’s Volume #2 “Sing Along Songs: Disney Princess Enchanted Tea Party” was released on DVD.
Sept. 6, 2005 – Disney’s “Toy Story 10th Anniversary Edition” was released on DVD.
Sept. 6, 2005 – It was reported that Disney’s Buena Vista Music Group (which produces soundtracks for Disney movies and albums for singers such as Hilary Duff) has signed a deal with EMI, the world’s 3rd largest music company.
Sept. 6, 2006 – Disney Channel Germany aired “High School Musical” for the first time.
Sept. 6, 2007 – “Mickey’s Mystery Pin Machine” made its debut at MouseGear in Epcot at WDW.
