Its great. You start the meal with a cold mini-buffet of deli meat, seafood, salad, and cheese. For your entree, you choose from a selection that includes some Nordic inspired dishes. Dessert is a platter of three different ones and is very unique and yummy. I would highly recommend it, especially if you are into the princesses.

me me me!!! We LOVED IT. We booked the royal table AND akershus and we were deeply disappointed with royal table, in comparison to akershus. The buffet, the food, and Oh My the dessert is amazing and we got more time with the princesses than we were able to get at the royal table. I felt royal table was very rushed, not to mention the kids menu is the EXACT print out they give you at akershus. The adult menu is better at akershus...royal table; id rather have mcdonalds.

We tried it for the first time in Dec and really liked it. My Dh and I both had he braised Pork Shank with garlic mashed potatoes and red wine sauce and it was wonderful.
The cold appetizer buffet was great and my son really pigged out on the boiled shrimp from it.
The kids had cheese pizza and Cheese ravioli with meatballs and cleaned their plates.
The princess interaction is fantastic. We like everything about Askerhaus much better than Royal Table.

We loved it. Although it has likely changed since my wife and I had lunch there in 1998, I'm sure it is still a quality restaurant. Love the lefke bread, the goat's milk cheese, and the variety of cold salads and herring. The hot food was excellent too. The best part was a chocolate mousse in the shape of a viking ship with a chocolate sail. I wonder if they still have that? I hear they have princesses now too. Who doesn't love princesses? :princess:

We really liked it. We couldn't get teh castel a few years back so we tried it and really enjoyed it. I think the dinner menu has changed since we were there and they don't have the dish we had anymore, but it was a nice atmosphere and good different food.

We enjoyed Akershus. The 'koldbort' is simply a very good salad bar where you can, of course, pick want you want before the very good entrees are served.

Some folks seem to think, "Well, if it's foreigners it ain't goona be like Waffle House!" and they are, thank goodness, absolutely correct.

It is hands down our favorite restaurant at WDW. The cold buffet is fantastic, the entrees are great, and the dessert is very special. Our DD loves the princesses and we've always thought the service went above and beyond any other 1 TS restaurant. Add in the fact you get a free photo with your meal, how can you beat it?

Looking forward to dining there again in just under two weeks :eat:

The character interaction was great. DW and I were less than impressed with their lamb stew. The cold buffet was ok....if you like herring you might enjoy it more than we did. I was shocked (and disappointed) to see that a table of two gets exactly the same amount of deserts that a table of five gets. But when you consider that you're really going for the characters, I would say that while worthwhile once, we couldn't do it again.

Before the characters moved in, Akershus was the single best place to eat on property.

It remains very good, the Koltbord is a must and the entrees, despite having become a bit too standardised for my taste, remain among the best in WS.

The character interaction is very good.
