 What famous people have you seen in Disney World with their families ? WDW is such a magical place, and out of any place on Earth, this would be the one where, no matter how rich or famous, everyone comes and has fun like a close-knit family.

So, who have you seen and how did other guests act around them ? Were they treated differently? Were they constantly hounded by fans or did they go unnoticed?

NO WAY!! OMG You are sooooo lucky. Did you get his autograph or picture???? LOL

I was outside spaceship earth sitting facing it and I saw a guy i recognized, and I was trying to figure out how I knew him. Then I realized it was Ryan Key the lead singer from "Yellowcard" (they had the popular song "ocean avenue" back in 2003) By the time I realized how I knew him and got out my camera for "photographic evidence" he was lost in the midst of the crowd. He was with a group of friends and they were by themselves no cm with them, so they just blended into the rest of the crowd.

Also I saw David Akers (kicker for Philadelphia eagles) and his family, they were the special guest in the parade at MK back in 2006. I did get a picture of him.

When I worked for WDW, I saw and met alot of famous people. I met N'Sync when they were just starting out, Jon Secada on the Jungle Cruise but not my boat, and when I worked at Epcot in Future World I even met and talked with Diana Ross! She was walking thru Pasta Piazza during the nighttime fireworks to avoid the crowds to get out of the park and said to me, "You are doing a nice job, keep up the good work!" I looked up to see a small african-american woman with BIG sunglasses on with husband and 2 kids in tow. I thanked her for her compliment and asked how her day was and if they enjoyed themselves. we chatted for a few minutes and then they walked on and out the side door. I asked my friend who that was, and he told me...I was floored!
Actors/famous guests do get special treatment so they can enjoy the parks without being mobbed by fans, they get escorts to take them to and fro in the parks. Most of the guests might take a picture or point them out but no mob scene going on here. Most guests figure they are here to enjoy their day just as much as they are!
Once I met Jamie Lee Curtis in NC at Screen Gems Studios while she was filming, "VIRUS" with William "BILLY" Baldwin. She was funny, we chatted for awhile, she asked me what my name was and I said, "Ms. Curtis, my name is..." She stopped me in mid sentence and corrected me. She said, "Stop right there! My name is Jamie or Jamie Lee, not Ms. Curtis!" I felt like I was in trouble, but introduced myself and explained I was only calling her Ms. Curtis out of respect. She said the most funny thing, "Will," she said, "alot of people treat us different because we make movies and have alot of money, but we get skid marks anad yellow stains in our underwear just like them, so you call me Jamie! We all laughed! Wehn we were leaving the studios I saw her and said, "Have a good day Ms. Cur--I mean Jamie!" She looked and smile and gave me a wink!

So see all those famous and rich people are just like you and me...they get stains in their underwear too!:mickey:

Christmas 2004, I saw Gary Sinise. He was close enough to touch. He was there with (I assume his family) his wife and daughters. The women all had long beautiful curly hair and were very pretty. They just got off rock-n-roller coaster.

In 2005 I got to attend the press event for the Happiest Celebration on Earth at MGM. Saw lots of celebs there...Lance Bass, Daphne Zuniga, the guy from GMA that does weather, Patrick Warburton, Michael from Extreme Home Makeover, Smashmouth, and a few more I can't recall right now.

As for just randomly spotting in the parks, we saw Robin Williams and his family (before his divorce, about two years ago) getting off of POTC. They had plaid vests with them- not a lot of folks seemed to notice)

Just recently we saw the president of Angola's wife and family getting off Snow White (tons of secret service personnel- black suits, dark classes, ear pieces, etc) Caused a ton of attraction but no one knew who they were (I got off the ride behind them and heard a guest go ask, that's the only way I knew)

Other than that, my other claim to fame spotting is that guy that says "Let's get ready to rummmble!!!" on wrestling. The crowd reaction was kinda like :haha:

I saw Frank Gifford at Test Track years ago with his kids (Cody and Cassidy?). They came in through a door on the other side of the track and the ride was held up until they got on.

I took my niece to Disneyland a few years ago. It just happened to be the day they were filming the Christmas parade so she got to see Miley Cyrus (Hannah Montana) and Ryan Seacrest. Miley sung live. I was surprised at how strong her voice is for her age.

I don't recall seeing any celebrities (except Mickey, etc.) at WDW, but we've had plenty of them in our neck of the woods, with a studio not too far away, in Wilmington, NC.

A couple years back I saw Kelly Ripa and her family there they were going to the race cars (MK). Let me tell you not to knock her, but man she was soooo thin i know she is skinny on TV but in person it was like WOW !! Honey eat something... her hubby was really cute and looked exactly like he does on TV. She also looked stressed out with the kids.. maybe it was hunger pains..

I also saw Shannon Sharp walking around with some hottie displaying the Broncos on her tighter then tight half shirt.. I guess she was his billboard because no one really recognized him (he is very short) not your average football player looking guy, but they looked like they were having a nice night...

Never seen anyone at WDW. :(

But we saw Warren Oates at DL. You'll have to be "old" to remember who that is.

My DD, who was a CM at DL and a Jungle Cruise skipper got to see a number. The ones she has told us about:

George Alexander (from Seinfeld)...on her boat.

Val Kilmer on someone else's boat. She tells the story that she and another CM were on an empty boat pretending to be dead over the edge of the boat right there at the waterfall where two boats pass pretty close and who is in the other boat cracking up? Val himself.

She got to touch Jon Bon Jovi's elbow to help him on a boat.

Oh, and the creme de la creme. Jack Nicholson, a tour guide, a lady friend and a couple of kids on HER boat. She's doing her spiel, and Jack's doing jokes and impersonations. A fond memory for her.

My DD has spotted Joey Fatone on both coasts.
She was mad that she didn't get to talk to him the first time-- at DL. Several months later she was back in Fla and was waiting to ride TOT. As they were getting her elevator lined up a CM told them to hold up a minute-- Joey and family walked out. She heard the CM ask if he wanted his own elevator or if the others could ride-- he said, sure, no problem so DD got to ride behind him.:cloud9:
As they were exiting she decided she wasn't going to let the opportunity slip by to talk to him so she tapped him on the arm and said "Joey, I thought you should've won Dancing with the Stars". He smiled and said thanks and then she immediately called me yelling
" Mom, Mom-- I touched Joey Fatone's bi-cep!"

Saw Weird Al in 93 - had my pic with him- he was really funny. On my honeymoon in 99 we ate next to Drew Carey and a very attractive young woman at Prime Time and then saw them again at Cirque later that night. He was friendly and waved to people, but for the most part everyone left him alone. Was at DHS for soap weekend once- didn't realize it was soap weekend and didn't get too excited I watch CBS soaps!

My boyfriend saw guns-n-roses perform somewhere in downtown disney. then the next day he saw slash (guitarist from gnr) with his wife (or girlfriend?) in DHS. he said people just stared as he walked by, he wasn't being hounded. I just wish i were there to see him cause I love Guns-n-roses. And don't even bother to ask me when they were there because i forgot!

We always miss the people. A week after we got back from our last trip (August 2008) TMZ released pics of Michael Phelps walking across the WL lobby! Exactly where we had just stayed! If we waited a week we so could have seen him!

I have one real one and a few cheats...

My folks and I were walking in MGM in '95 and walked right up on Nancy Senatra (Frank Senatra's daughter) doing a remote or something.

I saw David Ogden Stiers do the Christmas Candlelight Program in '96. He is one of my favorite actors, so I was literally crying while he was reading the Christmas story.

During Soap Weekend, my favorite actor from One Life to Live, Forbes March, climbed out of the pool right in front of me and walked passed all wet and in his swim trucks. O.O My mom was like, "Hi Forbes!" and he said hi back and walked on.

December 5, 2001, Walt Disney's 100th birthday celebration. I stood in a line to get Julie Andrews autograph. That day, all kind of folks were cruising around including some of the original mousketeers. Bobby Burgess, Cheryl ????, and Cubby. Neat day.

The Candlelight Processional. My favorite was Phylicia Raashad, the same year as Walt's b'day, right after 9 / 11. She had everyone stand at the end, and sing Let There Be Peace On Earth. Brian Dennehey was terrific too. We've seen many others, but I'm listening to a video while I'm typing, and can't think of names.

I don't think I have ever seen anyone famous at WDW- if I did I did not notice or recognize at least. My friend said she had seen- and talked to- Robert Downey Jr. years ago at a shop in Pleasure Island. Probably in the 1990s. She didn't know who he was, just thought he was some regular guy- and was asking him about this sweater he was buying- lol "Who's that for? Your girlfriend? I was going to buy that sweater , too." I guess he was a little wierded out but he talked to her. Afterwards, her friend says OMG don't you know who that was? LOL she had no idea. She said he was a small guy. She was embarrassed after she found out.

Keep you eyes peeled for the CMs wearing the plaid vests- they are VIP guides. They are usually hired to take celebrities and big wigs around the parks. Not everyone they take around is a celebrity, but if you notice then take a second look.

The celebrities I've seen/met include:
*Sat next to Joey Fatone during the old MK day parade in 2006

*Took a picture for Mandy Moore

*Saw Jorge Posada from the Yankees in Toontown

*Saw Rasheed Wallace from the Pistons in Toontown

*Saw David Cook at TSM

*Met Warwick Davis during SWW- such a nice guy!

*I also met Daniel Logan, Jake Lloyd, and Dave Filioni (the director- sp?) at SWW

In 1998, when I worked at Typhoon Lagoon Diana Ross came down my slide. I'm ashamed to say that I didn't recognize her and had to be told later on. In my defense she didn't look like her usual self....with wet hair and all.

She's a BIG movie buff. She said she was a little nervous, but Jack put everyone at ease, and they all had a great time. CM's are not "allowed" to get star-struck, so no pictures, autographs, or anything like that.

But she was jumping up and down when she told us the story. Does that count?

Oh, and I forgot one. At Xmas time, they have all of the Disney folks come for a special evening. She had the President of Disney Studios on her boat. She asked if he wanted to drive....and he said yes. Right there at the elephants, you have to pause or the elephant will soak you. Well, the Pres didn't realize that and ran right thru it, soaking everyone. They all laughed and the Pres came up to her personally later on and said how much he enjoyed the "ride" (and the driving). :mickey:

I had the opportunity to seat Christina Aguilera and her entourage on my last night of working at Big Thunder Mountain. Despite the fact that I am a huge fan of hers, it is true that CMs are not allowed to get star-struck. We cannot talk to celebrities unless they talk to us first. So I never actually got to talk to her.

While working there I also met Vincent D'Onofrio, Brad Garrett, Chris Tucker and a myriad of sports celebrities I didn't know.

I have seen several over the years. John Stamos, Gary Sinise, Nancy Kerrigan, Raven Seymone, Ali and AJ, Regis and Kelly. I know there are more, but just can't think right now. OOOHHH! Just thought of some more... Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy and Pluto!!!:mickey:

On the other hand, when my brother and sister-in-law got married in '96, they went on their honeymoon to WDW. When they went to the MK, 1/2 of it was closed because the first family was there minus Bill. Boy, was my brother mad that they closed 1/2 the park just for her! LOL!!!

One year we were waiting to be escorted over to the luau show at the Poly when my two DDs looked over and saw two kids - a boy and a girl - waiting in line ahead of us. They said they were the kids from a Disney Channel show - Alyson Stoner and Michael Johnson.

Another year we were just getting off Expedition Everest and stood there trying to decide where to go next. My DD said, "Oh my gosh it's that actor from the Steve Carell movie." It was Seth Rogen.

Last year we were at Magic Kingdom they day they were filming the Christmas Parade performances. Well, I was waiting with my little ones while DH was riding Splash Mountain and it stood out to me to see a log come down with only 3 people. I recognized David Cook and went to the exit/souvenir shop to see him. When we went in he was just standing there browsing while his 2 bandmates (?) were talking with the CM's. I approached him and asked if we could take a picture. He was VERY nice and immediately asked if he could hold my 2 and 3 year old. We got a great picture. It was really funny that no one recognized him until we were walking away and I heard a girl whisper "Thats David Cook!!". My 4 year old still talks about it all the time when he sees him on tv or hears him on the radio. Very good experience and a VERY nice person!!

I was at AK eating breakfast at Donald's this May and I saw a Shawn Michaels (WWE). Only reason I knew who it was, he is one of my son's favorite wrestlers. I was standing in line at the buffet and I looked over and kind of thought it looked like him, but I started to doubt myself (which I tend to do when ever I see a celebrity). He had a bandana on and his long hair was hanging out in the back, he had some pretty big arms, but that didn't really sell me on it, then I see he has a tattoo of the Texas state flag on his leg and I remember hearing he was from TX, so I say something to my wife and she blurts out where and looks right over at him. He kind of got a deer in the head light look and went and said something to his wife and went and sat down.

We were only like two tables from him and I was able to get some good pictures of him.

Back in 98 or 99 they were taping some concert in all four parks. In the MK my dad and I were walking in Tomorrowland and they told us to stop and walks out Christina Aguileria ( she is so pettie). In Epcot we saw Enrique Inglesis perform (i know I spelt his name wrong). In 06' my DH and I just finished our dinner outside the Mexican Pav in Epcot when all of a sudden we saw a couple of golf carts comming our way in one of them was George H Bush and his wife Barbra. My husband got a great picture of the past president.

Other than seeing Angela Bassett at the candlelight processional last December, my only celebrity spotting was seeing Kathy Ireland walk within about 6" of me coming off Splash Mountain years ago. I had my wife and 2 young sons with me. At that time, she was only known as a swimsuit model. Tried very diplomatically to explain to DW who she was but my wife had no clue. The guys at work were very happy to hear every detail though.

I've never seen any celebrities that I know of at WDW, but two friends did run into George Lucas in one of the shops at what was then MGM. One of them didn't believe it was Lucas, so he walked right up to him and asked him, and he replied that he was. When my friend asked for his autograph, he said he was shopping with his kids right now, but that he'd meet them back there in an hour. They returned in an hour, and sure enough, Lucas was there waiting for them. He signed autographs, and then they went and had a soda together and talked for about half hour. They took some pictures to prove it to me. I was extremely jealous!

In Feb "08 I saw Peter Bergman (the guy who plays Jack on The Young and the Restless). We were going into LeCellier for lunch and he was leaving with his children. It took me a few seconds to realize who he was, he is much thinner in person than on tv. But, his hair looked perfect!

In 1982 I saw Bob Hope at our hotel. It was the Royal Plaza in the DD area. It was late at night and he was practicing his golf putting. He had 2 huge bodyguards and I more or less left him alone. I just said HI and he smiled and returned the greeting.

We were in line behind one of the guys on That's so Raven-I just don't remember who-maybe Cory? My sister's friend's son told us who he was. He did have CMs with him and his friends but he was waiting in line too.
He was the black kid from cory in the house!
He was very cool and not standoffish at all, nice boy.

But we saw Warren Oates at DL. You'll have to be "old" to remember who that is.

My DD, who was a CM at DL and a Jungle Cruise skipper got to see a number. The ones she has told us about:

George Alexander (from Seinfeld)...on her boat.

Jason Alexander from Seinfeld, he played George.

Warren Oates died in '82, so I guess that must have been quite some time ago. All I could think of was Hall and Oates, John Oates, so I guess you're right about the old. :D

My sister claims she ran smack into Aerosmith's Steven Tyler at World Showcase, but she is prone to exaggeration, so I'm not sure if I believe her.

Just happened across this thread :mickey:

Although the only celeb I've ever seen while on vacation was Nick Lachey (, Epcot, May '08), twice I've come back from holidays and found pictures in the tabloids of celebs at WDW while I was there!

In May '08, when we returned, I saw pictures of Paris Hilton () and her BF at the time, Benji Madden, on BTMRR.

Then in February '09, after we got back, there were pictures everywhere of Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes, Tom's son (Connor?) and Suri at MK one morning for a private visit with the princesses :princess: Even though I think Tom Cruise is a bit loopy  those pictures were super cute!

Halloween 2008 DW and I, (and everyone else if they realized it) saw Johnny Depp. He was Captain Jack in the MNSSHP parade. I had heard that he had done it several times. Unfortunately, he wasn't there last year. I'm quite sure everyone realized in 2008, because the whole street went nuts!

Also, DW and I were in line a Flametree Bbq, when we recognized a familiar earring. It was Joe Rohde. We got a chance to chat with him for a few minutes and tell him how much we loved AK and were looking forward to EE (it was in testing phase.

Couple years ago we ate dinner at a table in Kona cafe next zach Thomas when he was still on Miami. 2 years ago we saw Regis and Kelly in mk but they were there doing the Xmas parade so that doesn't count. A friend of ours was staying at GF and saw James gandolfini in the lobby.

You might know him as Severus Snape in the Harry Potter movies. I won't go into his complete filmography, but some of his other well known movies are: Galaxy Quest; Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves; Die Hard; Sweeney Todd; Sense and Sensibility; Truly Madly Deeply.

I dont think I would classify this as "celebrity" per say, however, I saw Jon and Kate with the twins. She "SCREECHED" at my then 3 yr old DD that was pretending to take photos with my camera that was turned OFF "no photos!!" I have no idea what she thought the child would have gotten a photo of if the camera had been on and the lense cap off... Kneecaps perhaps?? Anyway....her "body guard" and CM that was escorting her seemed quite apologetic as they ushered her past. Jon never made a peep or cracked a smile the whole time.

Prior to the incident he and the "body guard" were guarding the restroom entrances while Kate and the twins were inside the facilities outside the QS rest. in Japan.

We were in DS a few years ago and saw the
Brady Bunch. We got to talk to them and get
pictures. It was great. Then one time we were
in AK and saw a rock banc but for the life of
me I can't remember which one it was. Some
of them sat right in front of us on the Safaris
ride. If my daughter was home right now she
would remember. Great post!
BEEN THERE, DONE THAT AND GOING BACK IN
MAY! :D
I will look for more famous people. I did get my
picture made with Laura Bush this past year.
She was in our town to speak and she came
to the Deli where I was having lunch. She was
such a lovely lady and it was an honor to meet
her.

I haven't seen any celebs at WDW but one time at Disneyland, I met Tommy Lee, he was there with his son, they were walking really fast through Fantasyland but with no entourage or anything so I went over and asked if he was Tommy Lee ( he is pretty distinct looking with all the tatoos but I figured I would confirm it was him), at first he said no, and I said Wow man you look exactly like him, and your son looks just like Tommy's kid too... he laughed and said ok you got me I am Tommy Lee, but I am in a bit of a rush and am trying to avoid the crowds. I said I understand completely and let him go on his way. He seemed very nice, and I could not believe no one else noticed him.

We saw Nikki Six in Disneyland and took a pic of him playing a video game (no one knew it was him either). We also had a day at Disney Studios where we kept showing up at rides "behind" Justin Timberlake and Cameron Diaz. People were freaking out, but we never saw them....Oh well. My hubby saw and got pics with Greg Elllis when he was playing for the Dallas Cowboys.

I saw Park Overall during our trip to Disneyland in 2006. Remember "Empty Nest"?

Somebody mentioned David Cook - we were there the day after the parade, and somebody on our bus said they'd seen him at Epcot that day.

(That was also the day we saw a LIVE armadillo on the side of the road...he was a celebrity to us as we've only ever seen dead ones.)

We saw Grant Hill (NBA player) with a random collection of Orlando Magic staff in one of the private dining rooms at the California Grill back in 2000 (I think). We had just finished eating and were heading outside to view the fireworks. My husband and I both noticed him as we walked by the glass windows of the private room. Being Magic fans, we were quite excited to see him as we had heard rumors he was going to be traded to Orlando. About a month after we saw him, the Magic confirmed the rumors.

I have to admit that I get a bit distracted at Disney (shocking, right?) and have probably been around numerous celebrities and not even realized they were there. I'll have to remember to look sharp in the future!

So 2 years ago - I saw a guy that worked in my building in line 10 people behind me at Test Track (there is only 25 of us that work in the building) - didnt know he was going to be there.

Last year - saw one of my clients (i knew she was going to be there - but we both said - what would be the odds of seeing each other) - we even stayed at the same resort - saw each other on her last day.

This year - my boss's boyfriend will be on the same flight down - he is in town for a conference.

My wife and I were having dinner at Wolfgang Puck Cafe in DTD on our honeymoon in October of 2007 when Michael J. Fox and his family were seated at the table right next to us. I don't think anybody else noticed, because it was very busy and noisy. They were accompanied by some WDW people in plaid vests. We saw them a little later going into Disney Quest.
