Aug. 11, 1995 – Disney’s Mickey Mouse cartoon “Runaway Brain” was released.
Aug. 11, 1995 – The Disney film “Dangerous Minds” was released.
Aug. 11, 1995 – The Disney film “A Kid in King Arthurs Court” was released.
Aug. 11, 1997 – The Disney film “Air Bud” was released in theaters.
Aug. 11, 1998 - Coral Reef Above the Sea opened in the Living Seas VIP lounge while the regular restaurant was under renovation.
Aug. 11, 2004 – Disney’s “Princess Diaries 2: Royal Treatment” had its theatrical release.
Aug. 11, 2004 – Starting on this day at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood, Ca., guests were invited to a “Princess Diaries 2 Royal Engagement” event to the movie and then for a Disney Princess Tea with Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Belle, and Snow White. (Ran through Sept. 6, 2004) (Also opened in theaters nationwide)
Aug. 11, 2005 – To salute the king of Rock and Roll, Pleasure Island became “Elvis Island” for 3-nights to tribute Elvis Presley.
Aug. 11, 2006 – Mike Douglas, the singing voice of Prince Charming in Disney’s “Cinderella,” passed away on his 81st birthday in North Palm Beach, Fl.
Aug. 11, 2006 – The Disney Channel aired the “Phil of the Future” episode “Not-So-Great Great Great Grandpa.”
