Aug. 9, 1985 – The Disney/Touchstone Picture film “My Science Project” was released.
Aug. 9, 1996 – Disney’s feature film “Jack,” starring Robin Williams, Diane Lane, Jennifer Lopez, Brian Kerwin, Fran Drescher, and Bill Cosby, was released.
Aug. 9, 2001 – WDW hosted its 1st ever “Pins Around Our World” Festival in the former Millennium Village building in World Showcase at Epcot.

Aug. 9, 2004 – A water main break on the 12th floor of the Contemporary Resort at WDW. The water cascaded from the 12th floor down to the 5th floor around 7 p.m. Hundreds of guests were evacuated and given the option of staying somewhere else for free.
