Some brokers 'hold' the stocks for you, that's what they did with my mom's stocks.

Yes I am a stockholder as well and yes there were discounts (only 5% I think it was) for stockholders

Yup, a long time ago, when the Magic Kingdom Club still existed, there were special cards for Shareholders. I don't remember how much the discount was though. We also used to get some offers along with the annual report.

On the left side of this page under ICOT Affiliates click on buy one share of disney stock there is a picture of the certificate and how you can buy one stock. You can save money by eliminating all of the frames, matting, etc. ( do it yourself)
