I understand The Land is going down for refurbishment on August 2. Can anyone else confirm this?

I hope it really is just the boat ride....I can't wait for my family to experience Soarin' plus we have reservations at Garden Grill!!!

Unless they're doing something DRASTIC, I doubt the entire pavilion is going to close. It's probably just the Living with the Land boat ride.

I guess we'll be out of luck too. DD doesn't seem to care for it too much but DW and I like it....

It's not listed as being down in the operational guide at the official WDW website.

You can check your dates here:
http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/calendars/?asmbly_startDate=20090724&asmbly_endDate=20090803

If a ride is scheduled to be down, it should be listed at the bottom of the section for the park that it's in.

I believe Living With The Land will be down for something to do with the queue. Don't quote me on that. And you never can go by Disney's website. They are always behind.

Any specific dates?

Come to think of it, with the possible exception of most of the Universe of Energy, Living with the Land is the only ride almost the same from day one when Epcot opened, I think. Its become a classic ride, akin to CoP.

Except for the absence of a cast member on the boats...and the fact that this ride ACTUALLY used to have a line, you're right. This is the only ride left in Future World that's remained virtually unchanged on most levels.

I love living with the land. I hope it's nothing extensive and is operational in November. I would be sad to miss it!!:mickey:

they just did a refurb on living with the land when they took the cast members off the boats, i don't see this attraction as one that needs a whole lot of maintenance or touching up

Yeah, I hope it's not down. DW and I love this ride....

I too hope it's not so!
Aug seems awfully soon to have not announced it yet, if there were plans for a refurb, no? I mean I know they don't have to give you any notice, but as a rule of thumb, when we get down to like 30ish days before our trip, I generally tend to assume there will be no new refurbs/closings added to the list.
OP : where did you get this info? I frequently check intercot, disneyworld.com, and a few other "info" & "rumor" sites, I haven't seen anything about it.

I would be surprised to see The Land down for a rehab so soon after it's last rehab. they did quite a bit of work not too long ago when they added Soarin' I'm not too sure what they would be refurbing?

I heard on another website that they will be shortly introducing bigger boats to accomodate wheelchairs and those people of a larger disposition but the ride itself wouldn't be closing

They already have boats that accomodate wheelchairs. Are they planning on adding more?

I think so and the boats would be able to carry heavier weights as well

I just found internal communication that the Living With the Land boat voyage will be closed to Guests starting August 1 thru late fall for refurbishment. No further details were provided.

Any conformation that the ride actually went down today?

I have seen it on some other websites, but nothing in coming from Disney. Everything I have read said it is an "emergency" refurb and there is no scheduled end date so far. They are stating that is the Living with the Land ride not the whole Land pavilion. :mickey:

Figment!

This really has me bummed. This is definitely one of my favorite rides. I guess I'll just have to plan another trip after the rehab since I'll miss it this time.

If anyone hears of a re-opening date... please post. We are going Oct 23rd and it is one of our favorite rides. We stumbled across it several years ago when it was the only thing without a line and we were hot and tired.... we were so surprised and have loved it since. It will be sad if that and TTA is down.

I agree, this is one of the most relaxing rides left at WDW. My DD5 and I rode it three times without getting off last trip while my DW and other DD's rode Soarin. We were the only ones on the boat and we had a blast. I played the video on Youtube last week for her and she got so excited. Hope it is back up and running in December.

we will be leaving on October 31st....

Anyword on if the TTA? I first read it would be open tomorrow 9/11... now read that "parts" of it would be down and there was no date.

Thanks.
