July 3, 1957 – Tamara Scheer, Walt Disney’s granddaughter, was born to Ron Miller and Diane Disney in Los Angeles County, Ca.
July 3, 1957 – The Disney Featurette “Alaskan Sled Dog” was released.
July 3, 1985 - Tinkerbell made her first flight in the Magic Kingdom.
July 3, 1988 – Disney’s TV special and 1st Annual “Walt Disney World 4th of July Spectacular,” starring Tempestt Bledsoe, Marc Summers, Burt Reynolds, Carol Burnett, Rita Moreno, Tommy Tune, Mark Price, Willard Scott, and the Beach Boys, aired in syndication.
July 3, 1989 – Disney’s Educational film “The Writing Process: A Conversation with Mavis Jukes” was released.
July 3, 1994 – The Lion King soundtrack hit #1 on the Billboard Chart, and remained for 9 consecutive weeks.
July 3, 1996 – The Disney/Touchstone film “Phenomenon” was released.
July 3, 1998 – Innoventions debuted in Disneyland’s Tomorrowland.
July 3, 2004 – The “One Man’s Dream II – The Magic Lives On” show opened at Tokyo Disneyland.
July 3, 2006 – A special Fourth of July fireworks show was previewed at WDW’s Magic Kingdom.
