Question about Renting in DLR

I need to use 64 DVC points to rent 2 Studio rooms for 2 nights at Disneyland's Grand California hotel. I want to use 24 of my BLT points, and then rent points for transfer from another member (doesn't matter what home resort) for the remaining 40 points. My question is, once I transfer the 40 points into my DVC account, can I specify that I want to use those 40 points plus 24 of my BLT points for the reservation?

The problem is that I currently have 270 BLT points but I don't want to use all BLT points for the DLR reservation or else I won't have enough to book my WDW vacation this fall. Does DVC work that way? Can I call DVC reservations and tell them that I want to use 40 SSR (or whatever) and 24 BLT to book DLR?

Can't you borrow points from next year for your fall trip, or are you planning a 2010 trip as well?

The trip is in 2010 but we're actually banking 2009 and borrowing 2011 because we'll be in a 1 bedroom for 2 weeks plus renting 2 studios. After all that we'll have 24 points left over. I just want to make sure I have enough to rent for our trip next year at 11 months out. In order to do that I need an extra 40 points to book DLR.
