We went last December and loved the Toy Story Mania Ride. We only rode when we could get a fastpass which usually meant we would get a fastpass first thing in the morning and get a time for 9pm.

Are the fast passes for TSM still running out really early? (They were running out around by 11am when we were there). Are the standby wait times over 60 minutes? I am guessing that right now in the middle of summer there are probably long lines but am hoping that in late Sept/early Oct when we go there will be shorter lines.

The lines were upwards of 90 minutes last week with Fast passes running out by about
11 AM. I wouldn't expect much change anytime soon.

FPs were gone by the time we got to DHS around lunchtime in early May. Wait times both the times we tried to ride it .... over 80 minutes.

When we were there in late April, we got a FP about 9:30 and the return time was about 1:30. At around noon, there were still FPs to be had. Maybe the time in which you're visiting will be more like when we were there.

If you're a night owl, wait times drop to 20 minutes or less about the last half hour that the park is open, especially if Fantasmic is showing.

However, they may leave 70-80 minutes on the board through closing time. I wonder if they are trying to discourage last minute riders.

I like to hit Midway Mania about 9:30 in standby. You should be able to ride and then get back in line just before they shut the doors. The second wait will go even quicker since the FastPass return line shuts down when the park closes at 10.

You should be off the ride by 10:15 and have just enough time to catch the late showing of Fantasmic at 10:30.

If you hit it at a time when the wait isn't horrendous, it's really worthwhile to go through the line. There is lots of detail and you can take your picture with Mr. Potato Head!

Wanna get your mind blown? We were at CA Adventure right at when it opened on a Monday in early May. We virtually ran to TSM and did it 3 times in about 80 minutes. And there is no FastPass.

WooHoo. Course our hands were too sore to do it a 4th time.

We did it during EMH at night and the wait was ~20min. This was in late April and we were really surprised since the park was still pretty crowded. We actually thought the wait was so short we got off and got right back in line.

We went in Oct and got fastpasses. The fast pass stop was the first thing we did when we got to DS. Our return time was 2 hours later. I have to say while I thought the attraction was fun I can't see what all the hype is about. While we will probably do this attraction again we would never stand in line for more than 30 mins for this and we probably won't make it's fastpass stop a priority either. I guess everyone likes something different but we just don't feel the Mania for this.

....it's remains the same as always....busy, busy, busy.....get there at rope drop and you'll be fine...

....funny about rope drop...they announce to us that the rope is about to drop and NO ONE is to pass the CM "escorting" them to the ride....no running, no passing, nothing but a normal walk.......and the rest of you NOT going to TSM, have a good day.....

As of last week, the fast passes were spent up by 11am. Most of the time the wait stand-by line was 90 minutes when we passed by, never saw it shorter than 50 and saw it over 100 once.

We did this ride twice. Quite frankly, without a fast pass, this ride is not worth the wait.

Fast passes were gone about noon today. The ones we got around 11 were for 4-ish and when we returned the standby time was 120 minutes.

I Know how you feel we were at dhs last august. and we had a 10 day hopper pass everyday we tried to get a fast pass to toy story mania. and every day they ran out. and to stand in line it was a 2 hr wait. we never got to see this attraction my children and myself were very disappointed. we are going back in aug and we hope we get to see it I have heard so much about I am dying to try it.

Most popular rides (especially the new ones) you can get a decent fastpass time if you go straight there at rope drop during EMH.

Thanks for the suggestion! There's a Fantasmic showing the first night I'm at WDW in October. I was thinking of going to DHS, but now it will be for TSM since I'd much rather do that than see Fantasmic.

Last week we went to DHS during late magic hours, and Fantasmic happened to be showing. We were able to get on TSM twice w/o fast passes, as well as Rockin roller coaster and Tower of Terror. during the day the wait was over 100 minutes a few times...that is when we would hit the other attractions.

We did it in late July 2008 and we waited a looooooong time. Should have gotten the Fastpasses while DW and DD were at the HSM2 show near the Sorcerer's hat. That would have saved some big time...:secret:

Blah, I had to sadly learn last trip that they no longer give out fast-passes for this during the morning magic hours. >.< They did our prior trip. Actually, they gave out ones for the whole day. >.>

I've also experienced going on the ride during the last hour the park was open and it said it had a 60 minute or more wait, and it ended up being 20-30 minutes.

We just returned from a 11 day visit. By our last day we had done everything we wanted so we went to MGM to ride TSM for EE got FP's and decided to wait in line. After our first exit, time posted was 50 min. but we had nothing else to do so we jump in line again and guess what NO LINE inside!! :thumbsup:We walked right on. Again, came out time posted still 50min. guess what? NO LINE again. We did this 5x's before the line started to grow. My suggestion is to look inside and actually see the length of the line and ignore the posted times!!:mickey:

Just got back from WDW. We went to DHS 2 days ago. We got a Fast Pass for this ride as the wait time was always 60 minutes and it was packed everytime we looked inside. Our time to come back was 5:45pm to 6:45pm and we got the FP around 11am. When we went back all the FP were gone, so not sure what time they were all given out. I suggest the FP route as this ride is still VERY popular and alot of fun!
The times posted were not always accurate at most of the rides....we figured out that you should add at least 20 minutes to the stand by times on the most popular rides!

My hubby and I think that the standby times reflect the number of FPs given out that are expected back at that time. Just a personal theory, but I've seen high standby times with very short queues and wondered why in the world the standby time is so long given the short line. I think they're trying to give an accurate time based on the number of people they're expecting back with FPs, but sometimes those FPs show back up at their designated times and sometimes they don't, so you get a shorter line.
