Okay, as you can see by my signature its going to be awhile until I'm at the world again. But the psychotic planner in me has already started tossing around ideas. Mostly those ideas are greeted by eye rolls and a "you realize we're not going for over a year" from DH. What can I say my hobby is planning.

But on to my inquiry. We (DH, DD7, and DS3 at the time of travel) are planning on going in Jan 2011 during marathon weekend. We originally were talking about doing a resort hop between a deluxe and moderate. But after inquiring here I think we've decided against it. I'd like to do a deluxe for the full stay (probably 9days/8nights), but am having a hard time swallowing the price of a deluxe. We are currently debating between BWI (DH's #1) and WL (my #1). I like both, but frankly the extra $$ for BWI is hard for me to justify. So I'm asking folks on this site to help sway me or DH one way or the other. So if you were us, which would you choose?

Personally, I would choose BWI for its proximity to both Epcot and DHS. Boat or walk to Epcot (World Showcase) in 10 minutes max. Boat to DHS in 10 - 15 minutes or walk in 20.

Nighttime festivities on the Boardwalk are a blast as well. The 'street' performers are a hoot and with all the vendors open, it feels just like Ocean City, MD did when I was young.

On the other hand, I prefer Wilderness Lodge. I love it's proximity to the Magic Kingdom (short boat ride away) as well as the ability to visit the Contemporary, Grand Floridian and Poly with ease.

I've never stay at Boardwalk but have stayed at the Yacht Club. I was so looking forward to that trip - thinking of all the dining options in the area as well as the ability to walk to Epcot and the wonderful pool there! I think, overall, the pool was the best perq. Yes, we could walk to Epcot which we did frequently and that was nice. However, we did run into trouble with dining. It seemed whenever we walked over to the Boardwalk side, every place we wanted to eat had lines out the door. It was even difficult to get into Beaches and Cream.

It's the only time we've stayed in that area and we haven't rushed back.
