June 28, 2002 – The Disney Channel Original Movie “Get a Clue” aired.
June 28, 2003 – “The Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl,” had its world premiere at Disneyland.
June 28, 2004 – Adam Pascal, who created the role of Radames in the long-running Broadway musical Aida, returned to the Disney show. He played the role of the ill-fated Egyptian captain who falls for the Nubian princess.
June 28, 2004 – Production began on “The Chronicles of Narnia” in New Zealand.
June 28, 2004 – The Disney/Touchstone film “King Arthur” had its world premiere. (General release was July 7, 2004)
June 28, 2004 – It was announced that after years of research and testing, Walt Disney Imagineering has perfected a new innovation in Fireworks launch technology. The new technology uses compressed air to lift fireworks, virtually eliminating the need for smoke-producing black powder and other materials at launch.
June 28, 2005 – Disney’s “The Pacifier” was released on VHS and DVD.
June 28, 2005 – The Disney six-hour mini-series “Empire” began airing on ABC-TV. (Ended July 26, 2005)
June 28, 2005 – Disney fans snap up tickets for a charity day at Hong Kong Disneyland within the first 3 hours their on sale. The charity is set for Sept. 4, 2005, which will let visitors see the Hong Kong theme park 8 days before its official opening.
June 28, 2008 – The 26-year-old African elephant “Moyo” gave birth to a 327-pound male, named “Tsavo,” at Disney’s Animal Kingdom in WDW.
