Check-in with only half the party there

We are staying in a 2 bedroom at AKV (rented points) this december 17-24. 5 of us (me, DH, D-MIL, D-FIL, and DS) will be arriving on 12/17. My SIL, BIL and niece will join us on 12/18. How do we handle check-in? When we made the reservation, we made it for all 8 of us for 12/17-12/24.

It shouldn't be a problem. Explain at check in. When the other party arrives they will have to go back to the front desk to get their key cards and "check in" as well. We did this once and it was no issue at all.
