Let's share magical moments we've had at Disney.

My DD5 and I had just got on our flying carpet in Adventureland. No one was in the seat behind us. Aladin and Jasmine walked up to us and asked if they could ride in the back! I said "YES!" Aladin asked,"Are you sure?" Again I said, "YES!" They got in. Aladin commented on what a great driver my DD was and Jasmine agreed. When it was over Jasmine held her hand and we walked over to a meet and greet area for photos and autographs.

It was awesome!

That is a sweet thing for you and your family to experience and something you will always remember. Our magical moment happened before we even got to Disney. My DH and I were heading to Disney for 10 days and it was going to be the first time we had gone alone for quite some time. When we got to the airport we were waiting in line and I felt this tug on my shorts, and I turned around and it was my 4 year old DGS, I said what are you doing here, and he replied, I am going to Disney with you and Papa. Our DS and his family surprised us and had planned it perfectly. He had told us that he and his family were going to do something different for vacation. We had a wonderful time with our grandson and we are all heading back there again in September but this time, the surprise is on our DGS, he has no idea he is going. We are looking forward to some magical moments with him and his little brother this year.:mickey:

I'm so happy for you - that's what makes WDW SO addictive isn't it? Regular "joes" receiving superstar treatment - what a blessing!! Congrats!

Love this kind of thread. Two popped into my mind. One was getting to be part of the tutorial with Captain Jack Sparrow on my 'significant' birthday.:cloud9: Another was when we happened upon Mary Poppins right as we left our castle dinner!. It was the first time I'd seen her at the World, and she's a longtime favorite. She even let me hold the umbrella for a picture (I had to ask, and promised her that I would not run away with it. I know I was a little wild with excitement at the time!)

That is awesome!

My favorite Magical Moment and we have had many was when we took Hayden to the Judge's Tent to meet the characters. We came in and one of the managers saw Hayden in his chair and told us to come with her. She took us through the back way through then three rooms of characters then asked if we wanted to see Mickey, of course we said yes and on our way to his house she grabbed Drizella, and Anastasia as they were heading out. Once over at Mickey's we had a private room with him where we had lots of pictures taken then as we were turning to leave she hands Hayden a Mickey Mouse plush and tells us Mickey wanted him to have it. We about burst into tears. It was so magical. And a memory we won't ever forget. I have several more, but this page would go on forever so I will give someone else a chance. :mickey:

Oh...sweet Hayden story!
Never get tired of these threads or of telling this same story since it's about the moment that started it all for our family.
16 years ago, our little 4 yr. old princess in her simple Cinderella t-shirt dress was waiting for lunch in the castle. Fairy Godmother hugged her and told her that if she would go upstairs and eat she could see Cinderella soon. As DD was heading up the winding staircase, Cindy was heading down. DD was looking down and suddenly stopped stone-still in her tracks as she noticed the ballgown and slippers. In super slow motion, it seemed, she looked up and there was Cinderella-- our princess was absolutely mesmerized and that magical moment has been frozen in time for us. After lunch the girls had quite a conversation, Cinderella kissed DD's "boo boo finger", and then told her where to stand so Cindy could blow her a kiss from the parade.
Fast forward 16 years and, to no one's surprise, DD is attending college in Florida and has joined the WDW cast. :mickey:

When DD was 3 and her first visit to WDW. She dressed as Snow White for the day, plane ride included. After checking in to our resort we headed straight for MK. She was so excited to see the castle. As we exited the castle she saw the Carousel and wanted to go on for her first ride. We got on the Carousel, picked just the right horse (so many choices). As the ride started up Mary Poppins appeared and sat in the horse right next to DD. She started talking to DD, who was too star struck to even speak, she just stared open mouthed. As the ride ended Mary Poppins took her by the hand and led her off and around the carousel to take photo's. It was a magical moment for DD and I got some great photo's of them walking around!!

The first time we took our boys to WDW (they were 6 & 9 at the time, & my DW had never been either), we arrived at our resort (All-Star Sports) about 8pm, and found out that the MK was open that night 'til midnight. The boys were so excited, we didn't even wait to unpack and caught the bus to MK, even though we had not planned to hit any parks until the next morning. We had not even looked at a times guide and knew nothing about the fireworks or parade schedules, we were just hitting attractions at random and enjoying the awe in our boys faces and comments. :yay:

We found ourselves riding Splash Mountain about the the same time that Wishes started. To top it off, there was a beautiful full moon that night rising over the castle, and when we rode around the outside portions of the mountain, with the fireworks going off and the full moon overhead, and the music from the ride and Wishes, well the is no other way to decribe it other than to say it was just 100% PURE DISNEY MAGIC. :fworks: :magic:
The boys were amazed :eyes: and even DW and I were carried away by it all.
It brought tears of joy to our eyes. WOW!

That completely unplanned "accidental" discovery of just how magical a place that MK can be has become the essence of Disney Magic for us and our favorite Disney memory; kind of like your first love, if you know what I mean.

On every trip since we have intentionally ridden Splash Mtn. during Wishes just to recreate and relive the memory of that first truly magical experience. We may not always get a full moon, but reliving the memory of that first Disney park magic is priceless, and worth the price of admission all by itself. We have many great family memories from other vacations, adventures and camping trips, but that Splash Mountain experience is at the top of my list of favorite family memories. :cloud9:

I believe this kind of family experience is what Walt was after when he first dreamed of and created DisneyLand.

My mom and dad adopted a foster child they were caring for when i was 21 and he was 5...He's my best friend, my brother, can't even describe how close we are....but after we adopted him, i decided to take him to San diego to meet our grandma and a bunch of other relatives. one of my aunts works on a cruise ship and was leaving the day we got there, so she let me have the run of her house and car....it was great, but her car was a P.O. S...i wnted to take him to Disneyland, but didn't trust that the car would make it...so i found out about a bus that would take us from San Diego to Disneyland. on the day we were going, i woke up and he wouldn't wake up...he has always been a heavy sleeper. i tried everything..finally i said "Ben, today is Disneyland day"...you never saw a kid jump up that fast and start to get ready...while eating breakfast i got a call saying that due to lack of enough people the bus was cancelled. Looking at my brother i decided to drive my Aunt's car to Disneyland. We had an awesome drive up there, driving along the coast. once at disney, for some reason my brother decided he didn't want to ride anything...Suddenly i became my dad saying that if he didn't ride something we were gonna leave right then!! ha...(no way we would have)....so he went on 2000 leagues, and after that we rode everything....as the day turned to night we had time for one more ride...he wanted to ride Small world...we got in the boat, approached the tunnel and suddenly at the top of his 5 years old lungs he started belting out the song...i was kind of embarressed until two teen age girls in front of us turned aorund laughed and sang with him, then an older couple behind us did the same....suddenly all of us in the boat sang the song, in english, the entire ride...we all laughed as we got off the boat, and hugged...to me that was my first DIsney Magical moment.

I have a couple that come to mind, and they all are about characters:
1) I got invited to ride the Teacups with Alice and Mad Hatter. Man did they love to spin it!

2) On 2 different days, I was picked as the First Family of the Day at both Camp Minnie-Mickey and Character Landing. I got a group picture with both groups of characters, and an autographed certificate from Camp Minnie-Mickey.

My DD, who was 6 and niece who was 8 were waiting in line for The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh and when Piglet got into their Hunny Pot with them. We got into the Pot behind them and kept taking pictures. Then Piglet walked them across to open the Meet and Greet.

Okay, I've got 2 as well.

The first was about 25 years ago at Disneyland. We were walking up to the Carousel when Merlin showed up. He has a couple of people attempt to pull the sword out of the stone....no go. So who does he pick? Our 6 year old DD. She goes up, yanks on the sword, and sure enough, out if comes. She's princess for the day. Way cool.

The second happened last May 3rd, again at Disneyland. We have annual passes and decided to go down for a 3-day weekend (Sun thru Tues). Sunday is a zoo...it's "Bat" day. A ton of people. We're in line at Thunder Mtn, and since we always ride in the back car, I look back to see how long the line is, and who do I see? But the DD and her husband. They live in Ogden Utah, and we live in Roseville, CA and had no idea they were going to be there, nor them us. What's the chances of running into someone you know and love among some 60,000 people (according to a CM)?

Just Magical!!

We were sitting outside of the camera/picture building right by the entrance to Magic Kingdom debating if we should go back to our resort or do another ride. Kids were starting to break down after a long morning. Out of a side door a cast member comes up to my daughter and asks: "Would you like to see Cinderella"? Well we ended up getting a long one-on-one shoot with Cinderella and my then 2 yr old son turned beat red when Cinderella kissed him on the cheek. I'm sure you can imagine how excited my daughter was by all of this.

The best part was that we were all wearing matching light blue shirts that day so we matched Cinderella.

When I was about 4 on my first trip, aparently my mom said that Minnie Mouse stole me and she showed me her whole house :] I thought that Minnie doing that was awesome!

I also love watching Wishes and listening to the song that is playing in the background. I think that the fireworks are beautiful and so is the music. :fworks:

Also like my mom said with The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh was awesome to ride with Pooh and Piglet and my cousin Tess!

Back in '97, with family and my 3 daughters, we were in the back part of DHS, where TSM is now, and Cruella Deville was out and about. She was being her 'cruel' self with autograph seekers, demanding, throwing pens on the ground when she was done with them, etc. She had noticed my youngest daughter, 7 at the time, hanging back, autograph book in hand, but a little intimidated:eek:. Sooo, she crooked her finger at my daughter, and slowly my daughter walked up to her. Well, she had to stay somewhat in character, but she toned it down a little:), knowing my daughter was frightened. Not the awww, that was sweet kind of Disney moment, but it was a great moment for us, that Cruella noticed my daughter, got her to come over even though she was afraid. Just shows that the truly good character CM's are sooo attentive and great at assessing the situation and playing it accordingly:number1:.

The most magical was our DD first visit @ 5 yrs old and her delight at EVERYTHING in the World. But, something very special happened in 06 during the MNNSHP. Our DN had recieved a complimentary FP for all 7 of us and we chose to use it after the parade to ride on POTC which was absolutely PACKED! Finally, just at midnight, who should come out of the side entrance, but Captain Hook himself! He escorted us into the attraction thru the back way and onto a boat w/no waiting. And then proceeded to board the boat and rode w/us! How cool is that?

We were chosen to announce the opening of Liberty Tree Tavern once. We got to ring the bell and say hear ye, hear ye. It was pretty cool. We got a certificate and my youngest son thought it was the greatest thing in the world. That's what sets Disney apart for everywhere else, the magic.

We had so many magical moments on our last trip. On our first day in MK, we met Capt. Hook and Mr. Smee. Our DD4 had a Tinker Bell autograph book, which he not only refused to sign, but tried to swipe. Her big sister, DD8, took on Capt. Hook and eventually got him to sign it and give it back. DD4 told this story to every character we met after that. Every one of them listened to it, as if fascinated, and commented on it. It earned them a group hug from the fairies in Pixie Hollow. But best of all was when we met Peter and Wendy on our very last day in MK. When they said they had a story to tell about Capt. Hook, Peter Pan sat down on the ground, patted the ground in front of him and asked DD4 to tell him all about it. Wendy took DD8's hand and asked her to tell her all about it. I love those pictures!

Our family was walking towards the boat dock at the Fort Wilderness Lodge when we were asked by a boat captain if we'd like to take a free fireworks tour. We just stared at each other in disbelief and said, "Of course!" Apparently, a family had changed their plans at the last minute and the captain was told to find a family to offer it to for free. We couldn't believe our good fortune. It was not anything we would have planned for ourselves and the magical moment we will never forget. We even saw an alligator which the girls found facinating. Oh my gosh, it was just the best!!:mickey:

Last christmas trip as my family and I were going thru the path to get on POTC, it was empty. As we rounded the corner coming the other direction at the same time was Captain Jack Sparrow. He stop as well as we did. I offered him a roasted Almon. He acted like we was going to take one just as Jack would in the moive, then he ran off. My oldest DD (16) almost melted running into him.:D

I took DD and DS for a quick day trip to MK when they were 6 & 2 while dad has some business in Orlando. While boarding Winnie the Pooh Eeyore came out from the back and proceeded to get into our car with us! I was more excited than than the kids I think!! I didn't even know the characters rode rides back then. After the ride were were escourted to the meet and greet area and were able to get pix and autographs.

The best magical moment was when DS was 5 and DD was 10. We were traveling with friends who had a daughter who was also 10. After dining at Chef Mickey's our first night the girls teased DS about Minnie saying she had a crush on him. He was sure they were right and commented about how she waved at him and talked to him. When purchasing E-Ride Night tickets I mentioned to the CM that DS was convinced Minnie had a crush on him. When we arrived back in our room the next afternoon Minnie had left an autographed picture for DS with a note saying how special she felt everytime she saw him. That still brings a smile to face when I remember that story.
