June 24, 1998 – Jacqueline D’Ambrosi, a 9-year-old from Woodcliff Lake, N.J., became WDW’S 600-millionth person to walk through the turnstiles of the Magic Kingdom at 7:37am.
June 24, 1998 – At Disneyland Paris, a number of parade and show cast members went on strike over pay and recognition. (The strikers would return to work in mid-July without achieving their goals.)
June 24, 1998 – Judith Estrin became a member of the Disney board of directors.
June 24, 2002 – The June 24th issue of TIME magazine included an article on Disney’s animated feature “Lilo & Stitch.”
June 24, 2003 – Disney’s direct-to-video sequel “Air Bud Spikes Back” was released.
June 24, 2005 – The Disney/Buena Vista Motion Pictures Group movie “Herbie: Fully Loaded” was released.
June 24, 2005 – Paul Winchell, the voice of Tigger, passed away at age 82 in Ca. A versatile ventriloquest who became a fixture in early children’s television along with his dummies Jerry Mahoney and Knucklehead Smiff, Winchell first became the lovable Tigger in 1968 for Disney’s “Winnie the Pooh and the Blustery Day.”
June 24, 2006 – The Disneyland Resort hosted a world premiere event for the new feature film “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest.”
June 24, 2007 – The Disney Channel aired the part-2 episode of Hannah Montana’s “Achy Jakey Heart.”
June 24, 2007 – The Nuts, Bolts, & Thingamajigs Foundation hosted a prerelease charity screening for Disney/Pixar’s new animated film “Ratatouille” at the Disney Studio lot in Burbank, Ca.
