Festival of the Lion King (AK) OR Beauty & the Beast (HS)

For those of you that have seen both shows, which would you prefer? We are limited on time on our next trip, but really want to make sure we see one of the shows we missed last time. Thanks!! :thumbsup:

For me it's Lion King every time. It's a great show that my whole family makes sure we see on every trip.

I have seen Beauty & the Beast a couple of times and tend to skip it now. I think it is a good show for young children and particularly girls under 8 seem to love it.

FotLK is the more impressive show all around. BatB was good for its opening act - 4 For A Dollar - but since they are gone now, FotLK wins, hands down.

3 of 5 here prefer Festival of the Lion King, we have one for Beauty and the Beast (strong preference - he complains when he has to watch Lion King), and one that becomes frustrated if she has to miss either (both are good.) If you are limited on time, which park you are in should really make the difference. If you are looking at which will take the least away from a day -- realize that it will likely take less time for B&B. Unless its after the parade, you can generally walk in near showtime for that one -- while we've had long waits to get into Lion King every trip.

:simba: Definitely a vote for Fest of the Lion King... it is our absolute favorite, it is hands down the best "feel good" show they do, and leaves you laughing and dancing and singing your way out the door. B&B is good, but not quite as "fun" as LK -- we've seen B&B once, but FotLK at least 5 times. It's a "not to be missed" for us! :simba:

Another vote for FotLK. B&B is a very good production, but it's like seeing a very shortened musical. FotLK is more like an interactive Cirque de Soleil.

Both are worth seeing and are in different parks, but if you can only choose one then FotLK is what I would do.

These are very different shows. The Lion King is more akin to a circus act with a little audience participation thrown in. It's fun and full of energy. B&tB is a musical production with great costuming.
While both shows are good, we, my wife and i, prefer B&tB. She crys every time she sees it. And one of my favorite Disney songs of all time is "Be our Guest." That pushes it to the top for me.

I'd say Lion King. I love Beauty and the Beast, but I love ALL of it and find myself a little sad that it's an "abridged version" (even though I wouldn't want to spend that much time in a show in WDW).

If you have seen the B&B movie, the show is nothing new - it's lovely and fun and all, but nothing new. But Lion King isn't just a live version of the movie. It's absolutely stunning.

Of the two you mentioned, Festival of the Lion King for sure. Finding Nemo -- The Musical is better than both, though.

We love them both, but since we've seen Beauty and the Beast more I would vote for Festival of the Lion King...if I had to choose.

I guess it would also depend on which story you like better. My niece who is going along on our trip this time LOVES Belle, so I will make sure to see B&B for her.

But as another poster said, it depends on how you want to spend the rest of the time and in which parks. The line for FOLK can take longer than B and B.

They are really different shows and different type shows. B and B is more like a typical musical theatre show. FOLK is more of a circus, interactive, musical production.:mickey:
