June 4, 1999 – The Disney/Touchstone Picture film “Instinct” was released.
June 4, 2000 – “Cirque du Soleil, the internationally acclaimed producers of permanent and touring shows around the world, including “La Nouba” at Downtown Disney West Side, held auditions in Orlando, Fl.
June 4, 2000 – Disney’s Broadway show “Aida” won 3 Tony Awards.
June 4, 2005 – The Disney Magic set sail from California on the second of 12 cruises to the Mexican Riviera this season.
June 4, 2005 – Key members of Hong Kong’s travel industry visit the Hong Kong Disneyland site to experience first hand the progress behind the first Disney theme park in China.
June 4, 2005 – “Disney’s first customer still uses his lifetime pass” an article by Tom Wharton appeared in The Salt Lake Tribune. It tells the story of Dave MacPherson, Disneyland’s very first paying customer.
June 4, 2006 – Disney’s Broadway hit “The Lion King” gave its last performance-number 3,571-at the New Amsterdam Theater. (It would shut down for one week and reopen at the Minskoff Theater on June 13, 2006.)
June 4, 2006 – Disney’s All-Star Music Resort at WDW opened their new family suites. Nearly 400 guest rooms have been converted to 192 family suites.
June 4, 2006 – The “Chakranadi Chicken Shop” closed in the Asia section at Disney’s Animal Kingdom at WDW.
June 4, 2008 – Disney’s Broadway musical “Mary Poppins” will end at the Prince Edward Theatre in London’s West End (after 3 years and 1000 performances) to begin its United Kingdom Tour starting in Plymouth and sessions following in Birmingham, Edinburgh, Manchester and Cardiff.
