May 27, 1992 – Disney’s Sequoia Lodge opened to guests at Disneyland Paris.
May 27, 1995 – The Coca-Cola Refreshment Corner, located on Main Street in the Magic Kingdom at WDW, was renamed Casey’s Corner.
May 27, 1996 – Disneyland’s Toy Story Funhouse closed in Tomorrowland.
May 27, 1997 – The soundtrack to Disney’s animated “Hercules” was released on Walt Disney Records. It features the single “Go The Distance” written by Alan Menken and David Zippel, and performed by Michael Bolton.
May 27, 1998 – Animator, Imagineer, and Disney Legend Ken O’Connor passed away in Burbank, Ca. As a Disney layout artist and art director he worked on such classics as “Cinderella,” “Fantasia,” and “Dumbo.” As an imagineer he worked on such projects as the “Universe of Energy” attraction and the “Back to Neverland” introduction to animation film, featured in the Animation Building at Disney-MGM Studios at WDW.
May 27, 2002 – The 25th Anniversary Edition of “The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh”, was released on video and DVD.
May 27, 2002 – The Walt Disney Company put the nose of one of their old Mark IV monorail cabs up for sale via online auction.
May 27, 2004 – Disney’s “Saratoga Springs Resort”, a Disney Vacation Club Resort, officially opened to DVC Members.
May 27, 2005 – The Magic Kingdom at WDW began testing a special guide map for families with pre-school children in conjunction with the existing guide map.
May 27, 2008 – The Disney Channel Original Movie “Minutemen” was released on DVD.
