May 26, 1995 – The Disney/Touchstone film “Mad Love” was released.
May 26, 1999 – Exactly 44 years to the day since he joined the Disney Company, Dick Nunis retired as chairman of Walt Disney Attractions.
May 26, 2000 – The Disney/Touchstone/Spyglass Entertainment film “Shanghai Noon” was released.
May 26, 2001 – Veterans of World War II and Pearl Harbor survivors were honored at a special screening of the new Disney movie “Pearl Harbor” at 8:00am at the Edwards Big Newport Theatre in Newport Beach, Ca. All proceeds were contributed to the Orange County Veterans Charities.
May 26, 2001 – The ABC-TV series House of Mouse aired the episode “Everybody Loves Mickey.”
May 26, 2002 – “Switching Goals” aired on The Wonderful World of Disney.
May 26, 2003 – Herman’s Hermits featuring Peter Noone finished their 4-day engagement with 3 shows at the Flower Power Concert series in Epcot.
May 26, 2005 – Actor Eddie Albert passed away at age 99 in California. Best known for his role on the classic TV series Green Acres, Albert also appeared in the 1975 Disney live-action film “Escape to Witch Mountain.”
May 26, 2006 – Disney/Pixar’s “Cars” staged its world premiere at Lowe’s Motor Speedway in Charolette, N.C. NASCAR legend Richard Petty and Darrell Waltrip, and others from the voice cast of the film were joined by a host of stars from the racing world.
May 26, 2006 – The “Hannah Montana” episode “Mascot Love” aired on the Disney Channel for the first time.
