EMH and Rope Drop Question

We will be going in September and staying at POFQ. How does EMH at the Magic Kingdom and Rope Drop work? With EMH in the morning at Magic Kingdom I understand that I can get in at 8am (vs. 9am). When do they do rope drop then? I hear it is pretty neat - with the train and all, and would like to see it... We are also planning on possibly going to MK on the morning they have specified for EMH.

If the park opens at 8:00am, I think they start letting people in around 7:30 but you can only go as far as the rope (held up by CM's on main street). At 8:00am, they drop the rope and everybody takes off like a bat out of ____ !!!

We went for mooring EMH rope drop several times last year. You are allowed through the turnstiles but you can not go into the park until 8 am. The rope is at the entrance to the tunnels under the train station. Just before the rope drop the train pulls up and all the characters come to the platform to do a special song and dance welcoming everyone.
