Well, we finally did it! We purchased at BLT! However, I called to make a reservation today and every standard view is booked Oct 18th-24th :( I had them put me on the waitlist, but I don't have my hopes up...this kinda stinks. WV were all booked too. Kind of a disapointment, but then again, maybe I'll get lucky :mickey: I try to look on the bright side

Congrats on the new purchase !! You can always get a room at another older " less crowded " resort this year and since you're owners at BLT, next year you can reserve 11 months out where the rest of us "non - BLT" owners will have to wait until 6 months out. That's how it is for us at SSR.

October is a busy DVC month. Don't worry. As has been said, next year you can book BLT 11 months out. You are within the 7 month window now, so book at another one of the resorts and have fun!

We had the same thing sort of thing we bought into for a MK view but when we booked we could only get a lakeside view . Were on a wait list too . Fingers crossed for you :thumbsup:

Thanks for all the responses!! I've actually changed our travel dates and was able to get WV for Nov 9-13th! WOO-HOO! We'll stay at OKW our first night, Nov 8th then move :mickey: I did stay on the waitlist for our original dates though. I will however be calling July 20th 2009 for our June 2010 trip and WILL be staying at BTL, haha!!!

Congrats on the purchase... I bought into BLT as well.. Booked a MK view for October... If you didn't own on the day the reservations were opened, getting in now will be extremely hard...

As previously noted, the key to getting the dates that you want is booking 11 mos. out at your home resort. Booking 11 mos to the day almost always ensures obtaining exactly what room type/location desired.

If you go to the DVC member website (www.DVCMember.com) and click the "My Membership" tab, and view "Vacation Points", there will be a message that will advise as to when you can request a reservation i.e.: "Currently, you may request a reservation at your Home Resort for vacations that have a check-in date on or before April 30, 2010, based upon availability".

Congratulations! We just become members as well while we were there last week. We also bought at the BLT and can not wait to book our first stay... I was thinking of October as well as my B'day is then but if there is a waiting list then perhaps we will look at booking for next year. Anyhow hope you get in on the waiting list and congratulations I know we are excited.
