May 14, 2001 – Disney Online and Compaq Corp. unveiled an all new high-tech exhibit at Disney’s Internet Zone at Innoventions in Epcot at WDW. It featured the “Mission: Space Launch Center” exhibit presented by Compaq.
May 14, 2002 – Disney’s 1988 “Oliver and Company” was released on VHS and DVD.
May 14, 2002 – Disney Interactive announced their newest 3D action game “Kingdom Hearts.”
May 14, 2004 – Disney’s “Blast to the Past: A Celebration of Walt Disney Art Classics” began its 3-day run at Disneyland.
May 14, 2004 – Starting on this day, Star Wars characters came to life at Disney-MGM Studios for 5 consecutive weekends.
May 14, 2005 – The all-new Disney Musical “Twice Charmed: An Original Twist on the Cinderella Story” began in the Walt Disney Theater aboard the Disney Magic.
May 14, 2005 – A 26-year-old African elephant whose calf died in its womb last month at WDW’s Animal Kingdom died from a uterine infection.
May 14, 2005 – The creative teams behind three Disney Channel series, Walt Disney Television Animation’s “Kim Possible” and “Brandy & Mr. Whiskers” and the Playhouse Disney hit from William Joyce and Nelvana Ltd., “Rolie Polie Olie,” won Daytime Emmy Awards at the 32nd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards Creative Arts Ceremony in Beverly Hills, Ca.
May 14, 2006 – The Danskin Women’s Triathlon was held at the WDW Resort.
May 14, 2007 – Disney announced the donation of $12.5 million to the city of Orlando, Fl. for a new performing arts center.
