May 5, 2005 – The “Soarin’ Over California” attraction opened in Epcot at WDW.
May 5, 2005 – The show “Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show” debuted at Disney-MGM Studios in WDW.
May 5, 2005 – The “Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters” attraction opened in Tomorrowland at Disneyland.
May 5, 2005 – The “Remember…Dreams Come True” Fireworks show debuted at Disneyland in honor of the 50th Anniversary of the theme park.
May 5, 2005 – The “Disneyland: The First 50 Magical Years” attraction opened in the Opera House at Disneyland.
May 5, 2005 – A new set of Disney Dollars were released and show three newly designed denominations ($1, $5, and $10) with classic characters and the 50th anniversary logo on the front, and Sleeping Beauty Castle with the year 1955 and 2005 on the back.
May 5, 2006 – Disney Channel debuted the new series “Mickey Mouse Clubhouse,” specifically created for preschoolers.
May 5, 2006 – Disney’s acquisition of Pixar Animation Studios was completed. Pixar is now a wholly-owned subsidiary of The Walt Disney Company.
May 5, 2006 – The inaugural “Disney’s Minnie Marathon Weekend” was held at Disney’s Wide World of Sports Complex at WDW. (3-day event)
May 5, 2007 – The 9th Annual Fullerton Railroad Days kicked off for a weekend of special exhibits at the corner of Pomona Avenue and Santa Fe Street in Fullerton, Ca. Featured is the Disneyland Railroad’s C.K. Holliday steam locomotive and the Kalamazoo handcar.
