Apr. 28, 2001 – Disney’s House of Mouse aired “Not So Goofy.”
Apr. 28, 2001 – The Los Angeles Times and the Orange County Register both reported that Disneyland’s Rocket Rods would never reopen.
Apr. 28, 2002 – The “Captain’s Tower” Landmark at the center of the Downtown Disney Marketplace closed. (Replaced by Disney Pin Traders)
Apr. 28, 2004 – Comcast announced that it has withdrawn its multi-billion dollar bid to buy Walt Disney.
Apr. 28, 2005 – It was announced that a 5th grade class from Tradewinds Elementary School in Coconut Creek, Fl. was the winner of the 2005 Jiminy Cricket Environmentality Challenge! (The students arrived at WDW for an overnight stay at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, and an evening party held in their honor at Epcot.)
Apr. 28, 2006 – Disney’s California Food & Wine Weekends began for the first time at the Anaheim park.
Apr. 28, 2006 – The Fall Out Boys performed for the first of a 2-night engagement at WDW’s Grad Nite 2006.
Apr. 28, 2006 – The 33rd Daytime Emmy Awards were telecast on ABC. “The 2005 Walt Disney World Christmas Day Parade” won the Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Special Class Special.
Apr. 28, 2006 – The 6th “Hannah Montana” episode “Grandmas Don’t Let Your Babies Grow Up To Play Favorites” aired for the first time on the Disney Channel.
Apr. 28, 2006 – WDW’s annual “Grad Nites” began in the Magic Kingdom. (2-weekend event)
