The new Characters in Flight balloon ride is now open at Downtown Disney. You can read more about it here (http://www.intercot.com/discussion/showthread.php?t=152871).

What do you think about it, Like it or Not?

Will you pay to ride it? Or, is it a waste?

:number1: We saw the balloon in action last week - it looks great. Did not ride as we kind of ran out of time but we will certainly do it when we are there again.

It's not going to be like flying in a untethered flight, but I can't wait to try it.

It certainly looks awesome! Definitely not what I was expecting when I first heard about it. I'm definitely going to try it at least once, although I am a bit wary- I'm ever so slightly afraid of heights- So, as excited as I am to try it, I am a little nervous that I'll end up running for the middle counting the moments till my feet are on solid ground again!

Robin, I'm like you! I really really want to try it but I'm not to fond of heights and am afraid once I get up there, I won't want to look out!
I did this on the big long tall thing at Hershey a few years ago and I wouldn't ride it again!

I'll probably be the only one in my family that will do it, but I'm going to try it.

I really want to go when I have a chance one day. I always thought the one they had in Branson Missouri was awesome so cant wait to try one here!

I'm another who's afraid of heights, so while I think it looks really neat and would love to do it, I'll probably chicken out. :( But, I know everyone else in my group is looking forward to it, so I'll just send my camera up with them! :D

I am afraid of heights like a lot of you. I am even so afraid of heights that when I look at those infinity pools on Tv I get freaked out.

I have to tell you though that I have been up twice in untethered balloons and have enjoyed them immensely. Once I was up there and looking around and taking pictures, I totally forgot about my fear and enjoyed the flight.

I say you need to try it once and see how you do. You might just surprise yourself.

Sorry but this just doesn't thrill me at all. I understand the views will be cool but really not worth the extra money and I am sure the lines will be long since I can only imagine how slow the load time will be.

I'm really looking forward to trying it! :) I'll be the only one from my family who does it. I'm really looking forward to it and I'll be taking lots of pictures, and maybe a mini movie or two. :D I think the price is so reasonable, that I might do it both during the day and at night if that works out.

We are so excited! It will offer such an amazing view. Just wish the price wasn't over 10.00. How long is the ride?:mickey:

I am so excited about this! Unfortunatly I have to wait until October to get to ride it. We will actually be on out honeymoon then, so I want to try to suprise my future DH with a ride on this, so im trying to limit his intercot usage! :secret:

I know DH will want to try it depending on how long the line is. I'm not sure I will. I don't like heights but may try it.

Looks neat, but I have this irrational fear of falling to my death. Even though I know that Disney has tested and inspected this thing completely, I'll pass.

I'm leaning more towards Jeff's point of view. I'm not sure if we will or will not do it this November but we'll see when we get there. I can say that if the lines are long we will skip it. No desire to stand in line forever with 4 children to go on something they will not enjoy and DH will be praying on. (DH is afraid of heights so he may not even get on. LOL!)

I don't like heights, but I will tell you the real reason I don't want to try this is the price. $16 an adult? For a family of 4 over $50 dollars. No thanks.

I don't have a big problem with the price, but $16 for six minutes is not cheap. Does the six minutes include the time going up and down? I would like to know how much time I have at the top to take photos. I would also like to know if the view is such that it's worth it, which can only be done by experiencing it. Lastly, it looks like this is enclosed with windows all around. If everyone is trying to look out the same sides or hogs the best view, it could be a frustrating trip. At the start of this posting Ithought I might try this, but now I think I'm talking myself out of it. We'll see. Mark
