My digital camera was dropped (accidentally) and now it is not working. :( I am really bummed out over this as I really did like the camera.:(

I leave for WDW in 16 days, not enough time to send it out for repair.

What camera would you recommend I purchase for this trip...I would like to stay under $200 if possible.

I'm used to my DSLR, but got the SO a little point and shoot Canon and I'm pretty impressed. I don't like the lag between the button press and the actual picture, but for about $140 I think it was a steal.

I think it's an A590, don't have it in front of me however...

Thank you! That seems pretty reasonable, I will look into it.

We've had great luck with the Kodak Easy Shares. Cheap enough at Walmart too.

I too love my SLR but I have had 2 Kodak Easy Share's that I love. The last one was purchased at Disney for under $200. Didn't realize the lense broke on my other one, until we walked in the gate of the MK. But I love the one I got in Disney. Great camara!

Just make sure you get at least a 7mp camera and the highest optical zoom you can afford. Any camera from Canon, Olympus and Kodak will be good. Make sure to get a big memory card. I also have a Kodak easy share, it was about $300 but that was because of the 10x optical zoom.

I would recommend getting one with a battery pack! Having to constantly change batteries is annoying AND bad for the environment :)

I have a Sony Cybershot that I love! It takes great pictures and is really easy to use. The newest version has a rechargeable battery, which is nice! I think they run about $150, but sometimes you can find them on sale for a little over $100. Be sure to check Amazon, sometimes you can get great deals there!

The Canon Powershot series is pretty good. They're very good about replacements/repairs if something goes wrong.

I have had 3 Kodak Easy Shares and have loved them all (I just keep upgrading to a nicer model...I love taking pics, so the next step is goint to have to be the SLR) They are easy to use, have lots of fun settings to play with, and have taken some really great pictures!

Just watch out for the 'Z' series from Kodak - they have a sensor light for the AutoFocus that you cannot turn off - makes it useless for 'dark rides.' Found that out the hard way with my Z812IS.

Another vote for a Canon Powershot. Just about everyone in my family has one, and they all take great pictures. They are reasonably priced and are pocket-sized.

Could you just borrow one from a friend or family member? If it's just going to become the second or third or fourth (or whatever number) camera behind the one you like it seems like it'd be easier to borrow than spend money on something that's going to sit on the shelf after one trip.

I just bought a Canon PowerShot SD1100IS Elph about a month ago and so far I LOVE it! I downsized from a huge older Canon model and did a lot of research before I bought. This particular camera is $150ish on Walmart's website but on clearance in stores locally for $130. It's fairly small but an 8MP with 3X optical zoom and a variety of other nice features.

I'm a bit of an amateur photographer, so I'm pretty compulsive about my equipment, but if you're just looking for a clean, crisp, easy to use Point and Shoot at a reasonable price, I'd heartily recommend the Canon SD1100IS.

Available widely at between $110 and $150, it's a flexible powerhouse with great color and good images. It's got a long lasting battery, and starts up FAST (which is important if you have kids at Disney, as the moments are gone all too soon).

Also, it's got a surprisingly great movie mode, which can be fun.

I bought one last year for a trip for when I don't want to lug my DSLR around and it was great.

We have a Kodak Easy Share M753 and I couldn't be happier with it. Very user friendly and I believe they are now under $200. :mickey:

We bought a Sony cybershot last year just before our trip and LOVE IT! It's about 7mp, and does video as well. It was only about $120 and best of all, slips neatly into my cargo pants pocket (so no case to lug around).

I'm just a point and click guy.I just want basic snapshots. The basic Kodaks go for about 80.00 and they are great. No bells and whistles which is what makes them so nice.Easy to use.
