Apr. 18, 2000 – Disney’s Buena Vista Home Entertainment released “The Duke” direct-to-video. (Original release was in Iceland on Oct. 30, 1999)
Apr. 18, 2000 – Disney’s Buena Vista Home Entertainment released “Perfect Game” direct-to-video.
Apr. 18, 2002 – An area of Disney’s Animal Kingdom, “Chester & Hester’s Dino-Rama!,” featuring new attractions like TriceraStop Spin, and Primeval Whirl!, had its official grand opening.
Apr. 18, 2003 – Walt Disney Pictures “Holes”, starring Sigourney Weaver, Jon Voight, Patricia Arquette and Shia LaBeouf, premiered in theaters.
Apr. 18, 2003 – Walt Disney Pictures and Walden Media released “Ghosts of the Abyss,” a documentary made by filmmaker James Cameron.
Apr. 18, 2004 – Disney’s Beauty and the Beast celebrated its 10th Anniversary on Broadway. It ranks as the 4th highest grossing musical of all time (recently passing Miss Saigon).
Apr. 18, 2005 – The Broadway Disney hit “Beauty and the Beast” celebrated its 11th anniversary. The musical, which is the 6th longest running show in Broadway history, originally opened at the Palace Theatre on Apr. 18, 1994.
Apr. 18, 2006 – A groundbreaking ceremony for the Oriental Land Company’s newest project, a permanent Cirque du Soleil theater, took place at Tokyo Disney Resort.
Apr. 18, 2007 – Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast” Broadway show had its 13th anniversary.
Apr. 18, 2008 – The annual “Disney Grad Nites 2008” began in the Magic Kingdom at WDW (2-weekend event)
