My 9 year old has a mole that has to be removed tomorrow. I am not too concerned about the mole part(they know it is not malignant, it just keeps growing) but they are putting her to sleep for it. She has never had anesthesia and with me being a nurse, knowing all the flukes that can occur in medicine, I must say I am a bit rattled over it. Her surgery is at noon tomorrow, so if you can spare some prayers and pixie dust for her, I would appreciate it. Her name is Mattisyn :)

The most horrible feeling in the world is worrying over our kids. Sending you lots of prayers and pixie dust that you make it through without chewing your nails down to your knuckles. Oh and of course for your
DD too.

I know what you mean! Too much knowledge is not necessarily a good thing! I worked in a hospital when my daughter was young and needed to have her tonsils out. I had access (pre-internet days) to far too many horror stories to let me feel comfortable. It all worked out just fine as I'm sure it will for your child - just keep in mind how the statistics will work in your favor! :pixie::pixie::pixie:

I know how you are feeling-my DS7 had to have oral surgery a few months ago with sedation-I was a wreck-but he did wonderfully, as will your DD! :mickey:

I don't think I'll ever forget the first time my DS went under. He was 10 months old and they had to take a sample of bone marrow so they knocked him out with me holding him. They did not warn me that all of a sudden they are just gone out like a light. It scared me more than words can say. I hope she did well today, let us know how you both made out.

Thank you all so much. My apologies for just getting back to this post. Everything went well. They did have to stick her twice for her IV(they put her to sleep first, thankfully) The bruises from them caused her more pain the first day than her back. I am just relieved it is over and that the mole is gone. It had been bugging all of us for some time....

Thanks again, my intercot buddies are the best!

I'm glad to hear everything worked out well. Sometimes the anticipation is the worse part!
