Apr. 12, 1946 – Disney’s Pluto cartoon “Pluto’s Kid Brother” was released.
Apr. 12, 1964 – At the soon-to-be-opened World’s Fair in N.Y. Walt Disney, Henry Ford Jr., and Robert Moses, visited the Ford Pavilion. The three were photographed by the press riding the “Magic Skyway.”
Apr. 12, 1987 – Disney’s 2-hour TV movie “Bride of Boogedy” aired.
Apr. 12, 1992 – The Euro Disney Resort, featuring Euro Disneyland Park opened in France. Euro Disney also premiered its 5 Hotels; Hotel Cheyenne, Santa Fe, Newport Bay Club, Hotel New York, and Disneyland Hotel, and the campground, Davy Crockett Ranch, located several miles away from the main resort.
Apr. 12, 1993 – Euro Disneyland welcomed its 10.5 millionth guest on its 1st Anniversary.
Apr. 12, 1995 – The “Ohana” Restaurant opened in the Polynesian Resort at WDW.
Apr. 12, 1996 – Disney’s live action movie, “James and the Giant Peach”, featuring the voices of Paul Terry, Richard Dreyfuss, and Susan Sarandon, was released in U.S. theaters.
Apr. 12, 1997 – Carl Barks, the creator of Scrooge McDuck, and who drew the Donald Duck comic book, celebrated his 96th birthday at a special weekend event at WDW.
Apr. 12, 1999 - Art of Disney opened at The American Adventure as a temporary location while Centorium was undergoing rehab.
Apr. 12, 2005 – Disney released 4 live-action features from the past to DVD. They included the 1966 “Lt. Robin Crusoe,” the 1967 “the Adventures of Bullwhip Griffin, and the 1971 films “The Barefoot Executive” and “Million Dollar Duck.”
Apr. 12, 2007 – Hilton Hotels Corp. broke ground for a resort development adjacent to the Walt Disney World Resort.
