Apr. 2, 1997 – Disney’s half-hour TV series “Smart Guy” debuted on the WB Network. (Ended Aug. 1, 1999)
Apr. 2, 1997 – Disney unveiled the newly restored New Amsterdam Theater, at a ceremony in Manhatten with Michael Eisner the Mayor of N.Y.C., and the governor of N.Y.
Apr. 2, 2000 – The Wonderful World of Disney aired “Mail to the Chief.”
Apr. 2, 2001 - Spectromagic returned to the Magic Kingdom after a 2 year hiatus.
Apr. 2, 2002 – In the strongest signs yet that tourism was recovering from pre-September 11, 2001 levels, it was reported that WDW had record setting attendance over the Easter holiday weekend.
Apr. 2, 2004 – A Tower of Terror Media Preview was held at Disney’s California Adventure. (The attraction would open in May 2004.)
Apr. 2, 2004 – Disney’s animated comedy-western, “Home On The Range,” featuring the voices of Roseanne Barr, Jennifer Tilly, and Dami Judi Dench, was released on the silver screen.
Apr. 2, 2005 – Raven, star of Disney Channel’s hit series “That’s So Raven,” won a Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Award for Favorite TV Actress.
Apr. 2, 2005 – Academy Award-winning actress Hayley Mills (star of such Disney classics as Pollyana, The Parent Trap, and In Search of the Castaways) addressed the Arizona Girl Scouts, Cactus Pine Council, at their first annual “Pollyanna Day’s” Celebration.
Apr. 2, 2007 – “The Laugh Floor Comedy Club” opened in Tomorrowland in the Magic Kingdom at WDW.
