Timing for eating during Illuminations

What time should I make my ADRs to eat during Illuminations? Is there any guarantee that I will get a "water seat"? If not, how long does the Rose and Crown stay open after Illuminations (so we could get there right after the show)?

We made our reservations for 7:45pm at Rose 7 Crowne and were lucky enough to be seated outside. There are no guarantees that you'll be seated outside, however if you are seated inside, they will let you go out to watch Illuminations. They are also very flexible about you taking your time eating and hanging out for Illuminations, so don't worry that they'll kick you out. :D I would say any reservations between 7:30pm - 8:30pm would be fine. I'm not sure how late they stay open, but I imagine they stop seating at least an hour before the park closes.

Chances are not great for getting a water view seat and it's not something anyone should plan on. If you get one, great. But it's random depending on what tables are available when they're ready to seat you. They no longer accept requests or even seem to like it much if you ask. There are only a few tables and obviously everyone would like a view. I would say the best chances that you'll get a table and still be there for Illuminations would be between 7:30 and 8. Don't forget to check in fifteen minutes before your ADR time.

And if you don't get a table with a view, they do have their own viewing area. They're happy to hold your meals or cover them and escort you to the viewing area for the show.
