I have always enjoyed reading and commenting on the intercot forums. For my 8ooth post I would like to ask everyone a great disney question. What attraction is better, Haunted Mansion or Pirates of Carribean? My vote would be for HM but this is a close call

These are two rides I ALWAYS do when I visit - but if I have to choose one it would have to be HM. I will be the 1000th haunt!:blush:

So far I'm the lone voice for PotC. While both are fabulous and I try to ride them as much as possible, Pirates gets my vote because a. it has the right balance of humor (funny but not too corny) b. the scale of the scenery is much more dramatic (the battle scene still gives me chills) c. I love the smoothness of the boat vs. a jerky track

As much as I love HM, it has to be POTC! Of course I'm a sucker for the water rides :boat: (even Peter Pan is a favorite and it's just in a boat and not in water :confused:) I love everything about POTC, from the waiting area, to the song, to all the different scenes (especially the dog holding the keys and the women chasing the pirates with brooms! The drunk pigs :pig: are hilarious too!). We always make it a game to see if either of us get "wet" meaning a drop or so of water on us from the scene with the bombs. It's a great ride and has been a favorite since my early trips in the early 90s. :pirate:

I have to say POTC by a very narrow margin. HM is great, but I absolutely love the queue for POTC. Whenever I go to WDW, it's walking over the wooden bridge to Adventureland and riding POTC that really says, "you're finally here!" to me.

I chose HM, but I'm not sure if I would if we were talking about Disneyland. There, POC is longer, with additional stuff and an extra drop, and HM is a bit shorter, with some scenes left out.

oh man this was a toss up but i choose Pirates, and believe me it was a virtual tie, but i gave the edge to Pirates , because this is usually the first ride that me and dw hit first when we get to MK.

Wow :eek: This was a tough choice for me. I picked HM because you were asking about MK. But if I were going to DL my answer would be the reverse. I love the longer version of POC at DL and while HM is much improved at DL, I like MK version better. Good question I really had to think about it. :mickey:

Ditto! I would say I think I tend to ride POTC more though....so maybe deep down it's that one for me! This September will be my DH's first trip so I can't wait to see what he likes!

My favorite classic ride will always be POTC. Favorite trill ride is RNRC.

It's a really close race, but I would probably say Pirates of the Caribbean. Again, it's a really close call.
