I started last year's thread! I like my Peeps stale.

My DH likes them stale also - he opens the package and lets them sit until they get hard. Go figure.

Most of the time, they are already stale when you buy them, they've been on the store shelves for a month, in the store stock room a month before, in the stores distribution center two months before that, at the candy warehouse for months before that, not including travel time.
Nuking them is the only way to bring them back to life.

My husband does the same thing - opens the package and lets them sit to get hard! I like mine soft!

And my dh makes fun of me for this. He is a sweetie and buys me my own package so that I can nuke 'em and not have to worry about my dd having a fit because mommy at all of her peeps. My dd had me nuke one for her last year, and I she saw them in the store the other day and mentioned that she wants me to microwave them for her again...:thedolls:

Normally, I don't mind being a vegetarian but when Peep season rolls around it's extra hard. Go figure....ask me if I miss hamburgers and the answer is no. Mention Peeps and I almost burst into tears. I used to love to wait until they got a little stale.

My husband bought me a stuffed animal peep instead so I wouldn't feel so bad. My favorite was also the purple bunny and the yellow chick. :bunny:

I like mine soft. I can remember my Grandmother letting them harden though. Honestly, I'm not much of a Peeps fan at all. I would rather have a chocolate bunny! :bunny:

Kathy, I will bring some in July, we'll just need to find a microwave LOL!No microwave!!! Just bring 'em stale!

I love that Peeps are available year-round now. Peeps are ALWAYS in season! Of course, I'm a traditionalist - I like the yellow chicks best. I gotta go shopping now...

I love this thread! It is too funny! I have a theory on Peeps. I think the manufacturers have changed their 'recipe' over the years. As a child I seem to remember them tasting better! Now I don't really think they taste very good.

Give me a chocolate bunny!

As the Just Born Company pointed out to me, Peeps don't get stale.
They age to perfection.

I'm a traditionalist as well. No 'off season' Peeps for me!

I think we still have some left over from last year.

Any takers?

I was just thinking I might have to start a Peeps threat but here it is. I love this time of year! I have never put them in the microwave might have to try it but how long do you put them in for? I like to let mine go stale thanks to the wonderful Intercot people who got me on to the idea!!

Fun thread! My middle child loves peeps, but I mostly decorate with 'em. Saw a cute book yesterday with all kinds of cool ideas to do with peeps--like use them for stamps with paint to decorate bags, etc. I was thinking about trying that on fabric or a sheet to make a cool tablecloth for Easter....

My husband bought me some the other day and when I went to go eat them there was just an empty carton. It only took a few min. to realize it was my 8yo.
I just got some pink ones for my baby shower yesterday and he has been warned that you don't steal peeps from a pregnant woman.
