Are DVC renters eligible for the buy4/get 3 free special?

Probably a dumb ?, but this is our first experience with the DVC.

A friend of ours at work is renting us his 1-BR at SSR for a phenomenal price for 4 nights in June. We would like to stay 3 more nights (and would be wiling to switch resorts).

So, can we get three more nights with the package deal, or are DVC stays excluded?

You can't get any packages with DVC point reservations. No free dining, no 4/3. You're already getting a better deal by renting.

DVC is a timeshare. When you rent through an owner, it's like renting someone's beach house for a week -a private transaction between two individuals. DVC is completely separate from Disney's resort reservation system for the general public, which is the entity that offers the 4/3 deal and other packages.

You can get the 4/3 deal if you are getting the room as a hotel room not as a DVC owner. We did this in January at OKW. We did not rent anyone's points we booked a 2 bedroom villa thru Magical Journeys as a "hotel" room.
