I've finally got proof that the Kilimanjaro Sarafri guide does not lie when he says something to the effect of "on the left is the fastest animal on the planet".

The cheetahs do exist see :D

This is for the number of people that never get to see them and yes this was taken from a standard, moving/bouncing tour truck.

I'll post a link to my picture of 2 cheetahs when I get home tonight. There were actually 3 of them, but only 2 are in the pic.

I've yet to see the cheetah... nice to know they do exist. Granted it seems I miss out on many of the animals each time.

Seen them too, but admit they are usually not accomodating.

I almost always see the cheetahs... although they are usually lying down near the tree/fence line, as soon as we come near I keep my eyes WIDE open!

It has become a tradition to see who can "spot the cheetah first"

If you go in the morning (first thing) your chances of seeing the cheetahs seems much higher!

GREAT pic

I have seen them before - barely - because they always seem to be laying down by the fence. So it is great to actually seen one up! Thanks for sharing :mickey:

We've seen the cheetah - we did the last safari of the day one time and they were up and pacing - must be close to feeding time. :thedolls:

OK, here's my picture (http://community.webshots.com/photo/fullsize/2736900080027495723ldrTOh).

We actually saw them on both safari trips that we took in December, but I only got a pic the last time.

Ditto on the early morning to be best to catch them. Take it from some one who works in a zoo, early morning/dusk best time for active critters.

WE got a very good up close and personal visit with a cheetah during our trip in December...an ostrich with an attitude blocked the road so the trucks in front of us couldn't go until he moved...we got stuck in the Cheetah's territory and he wasn't happy, he kept pacing the whole time. I know they say there are invisible barriers protecting you from them, but you don't really notice them  Your pic turned out really good:D

Here (http://www2.snapfish.com/slideshow/AlbumID=276723283/PictureID=6950721566/a=133606435_133606435/otsc=SHR/otsi=SPIClink/COBRAND_NAME=snapfish) is my only (blurry and crooked!) cheetah photo. I've seen them several times, but this is the closest thing to a decent picture I've ever been able to get!

Thanks for sharing this (and your other other AK photo), Zawadi! :mickey:
