Mar. 10, 2001 – “The Mickey Mouse Club” had a reunion for the 1950’s TV series at Pardini’s in Fresno, Ca.
Mar. 10, 2002 – The Wonderful World of Disney aired “Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister”, a film adaptation of Gregory Maguire’s book of the same title, and it tells a different Cinderella story
Mar. 10, 2003 – Disney World’s Swan & Dolphin Hotels 2300 rooms started being redecorated, and the overhaul was directed by Michael Graves, the original architect who designed the exterior landmarks. The properties are owned by Tishman Hotel Corp., and managed by Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide.
Mar. 10, 2004 – The Florida Department of Environmental Protection presented its New Green Lodgings Award to WDW’s Coronado Springs and Boardwalk Resorts. (They are two of the first four hotels in Florida to receive the awards.) The honor was given to hotel properties that feature innovations and imaginative programs to conserve natural resources, reduce waste, minimize pollution and reduce costs.
Mar. 10, 2005 – An open letter to the Walt Disney Co. Board of Directors written by Roy E. Disney and Stanley P. Gold was released. They questioned the process being used to find a successor for departing CEO Michael Eisner.
Mar. 10, 2005 – A white rhino named Kendi gave birth to a 143lb. Daughter named Kayla at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
Mar. 10, 2006 – The Walt Disney Co. held their annual meeting of shareholders in Anaheim, Ca. It is the first gathering under the leadership of CEO Robert Iger.
