View Full Version : Question about episode promos (e.g., Knight Rider finale)

There is a heated debate on the Knight Rider IMDB site on whether the show has been cancelled or not. There is one individual--every board has one--who is making a lot of trouble and doing everything he can to dash the hopes of fans that the show will be renewed. NBC has not announced the fate of the show. However, the commercials leading up to the episode Wednesday did indeed call it the "series finale." However, the NBC website said it was the "season finale." This individual claims that the commercial is NBC speaking as a network that the series is cancelled. The argument against that is a website is more current than a TV promo. But this individual says the commercial "trumps" the website and every other argument and it proves without a shadow of a doubt the series is done.

So my question is to people who know the television business. Does the fact the commercial said "series" finale mean the show is truly done? Could that have been made months ago? Wouldn't the fact the website says "season" finale be more accurate?

Thanks.
