Unactivated AP and Parking

Got a quick question about parking our first day. We bought our APs from the Disney Store so we have the vouchers. Our first night we are staying off property, but wanted to go to AK to see the characters for a little bit when we get there and we were going to activate them there. Do the vouchers get us free parking or will we have to pay that first day? Thanks for your help. 3 days and counting. :mickey:

Okay my info is in the 3-4 years ago range. Anyway here goes, when I 've had a voucher, I just show it at the parking "attendant at the gate" and I have been just waved through the gate for free.
Another time when I purchased an AP at the park gate, the parking cost that day was refunded to me. That surprised me, too because I thought I'd still have to pay it, since I got the AP "after" paying for parking.
Whether that's Disney regular policy or I was just getting a nice extra that day, I have no idea. But I was very satisfied! :mickey:
