Feb. 22, 1991 – The Disney/Touchstone film “Scenes from a Mall” was released.
Feb. 22, 1996 - Disney Online launched Disney.com to promote a wide variety of Disney products on the Internet.
Feb. 22, 2000 - Disney’s Broadway show “Aida” previewed at Palace Theatre in New York City.
Feb. 22, 2001 - “The Rosie O’Donnell Show” began a 3 day broadcast from Disney-MGM Studios.
Feb. 22, 2001 - The Tommorrowland Transit Authority at WDW closed for a short time due to a bird’s nest caught fire on the top of the attraction.
Feb. 22, 2002 – The Lizzie McGuire episode “El Oro de Montezuma” debuted on the Disney Channel.
Feb. 22, 2004 – USA Today ran an interview with dissident former Disney board member Stanley Gold. Reporter Michael McCarthy asked about the recent hostile takeover bid by Comcast and the upcoming Walt Disney Co. annual meeting.
Feb. 22, 2004 – At the 10th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards, Johnny Depp won for his performance in Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl.
Feb. 22, 2005 – This day is called “Christy Carlson Romano Day” in Milford, Ct. Romano (who grew up in Milford) is the voice of the Disney TV cartoon character “Kim Possible.”
Feb. 22, 2007 – The “Il Mulino New York Trattoria” Restaurant opened in the Disney’s World Swan Hotel at WDW.
